The souls series is developed by Japanese and uses Japanese style RPG mechanics - focus on action combat, bossfights, etc.
It isn't dialogue-focused pen'n'paper shit like WRPGs are - Witcher, Skyrim, Fallout, etc

Nigga, kingdom hearts is definitely c tier with its press O to win gameplay. The only reason it's "hard" or "complex" is because of the horrible camera/lock-on system. Or am I just simply missing something

On harder difficulties it takes pretty good reflexes to execute guards and dodge rolls to do the hardest fights in the game. Depending on build & if you feel like grinding the game can be piss easy or brutal but it always feels winnable.
