Nah. It's about normal. Swords are pretty flexible. You want longer swords to bend like that, you don't want a rigid, thin blade slamming into surfaces.

In DaS 3 there are two swords
Wolf Knight's Greatsword - which is basically The Abyss Greatsword and needs 24/18 STR/DEX
Then there is the Farron Greatsword which is basically a Greatsword of Artorias bootleg with some new slide slash moves and needs 18/20 str/dex

I leveled str/dex int/faith up to 50. At 50 in those stats it has one of the best if not the best damage ratings in the game but it's split damage so it gets reduced by two enemy resistances

Swords that aren't heat treated will bend, and stay bent, because they aren't spring tempered.
There are exceptions, differential hardened swords will take a set. Non-steel swords will set. But they are very easy to repair, and can often be bent back to true just with your knee (From my own experiences)

You'll have a hard time get to the stat cap of 40 for 2 stats by the end of NG in DaS1 if you're not grinding, and you might not even get much farther in NG+, and I really don't care at that point, and I'd rather start a new character that doesn't take ~3 playthroughs to use a weapon effectively
