It's a great game for sure, but people overestimate its difficulty because it was the first one a lot of us played.
I'm confident in saying that Bloodborne is actually the hardest game in the series. The required 'main' game is only hard for the first couple of bosses. The optional content embarrasses even the most bullshit of bullshittery that DaSII tried to get away with. I actually didn't have much challenge with the Chalice Dungeons excluding the cursed/defiled one. What the Chalice Dungeons did were test my patience, they were REALLY fucking boring outside of the bosses.
The main BB game is probably the hardest of the Soulsborne games but I think that's primarily attributed being limited in player options so there were less strategies and character builds that could overcome the challenges presented.
