Most RPGs are built assuming the player won't look anything up, and can be moderately challenging if the player doesn't. (5-10 game overs throughout the game, but never a need to restart from scratch)

After I played Fire Emblem Conquest I realized that grinding is really what destroys RPGs. It takes away any sort of tension, and when EXP becomes another resource to manage, shit gets interesting.
