Instead of making it an activity worthy of a special-ed class, they could of easily made the little hint a poem or something, some sort of riddle about scrolls, keys and swords, so that the player would have to at least put 4 seconds extra mental work to move on. It's pitiful to see that Infinate was praised for being a "game for smart gamers."
>>

Infinite is a trainwreck:

>The entire Booker=Comstock thing is fucking terrible. They're so dissimilar it's retarded (because this was rewritten by Hack Levine)
>"Quantum particles" are used to keep the city floating in mid-air by pinning it in space. Except it moves around the world also.

>Completely scrapped the Founders vs Vox stuff from all the earlier videos. You don't get to make any choices about who you agree with.
>Never any interesting combat vs peaceful options
>Story makes no sense when you jump through tears around the Chen-Lin stuff. Nothing you do matters.

>Elizabeth is irritating and fake. When she's happy it's fine, whent she tries to get my sympathy I don't care.
>Shit level design. Really sad compared to early videos.

The second game is great, I agree. Its main problem is that it starts out slow, and doesn't have the initial grip that the first game does. Well, that and Lamb is a poor antagonist when compared to Ryan.

Both are pretty good anyway.

If it had been implemented better it'd be okay (especially on the highest difficulty where everything is a bullet sponge and you pretty much need those pickups) but it's terrible as is because it interrupts gameplay at extremely crucial points.

Sometimes you have 2 choices

This. 2 started out slow and I didn't give it enough time. I thought it was trash until I went through it a few months ago. It's just as good as 1, if not better in some departments. The plot isn't my thing but I can't call it bad, and Lamb is weak, but the gameplay improvements alone are fantastic.

This is basically it. I don't see how anyone can see the whole story of Infinite and not think the game is trash. The complex systems of BioShock 1 and 2 have been stripped out because the story was touted as the main draw.

But it's shit. Elizabeth just randomly says nonsense about how some realities exist, some things are constant, some stuff is her wish fulfillment, and other stuff is multiple realities overlapping each other. None of it has internal logic, so the end result is just pretentious crap.

You know what annoyed me most about Bioshock Infinite? That for the part set in the 1980s, all the enemies are still using guns from the 1910's. Apparently Columbia was supposed to be so far ahead of the world but they were still using 70 year old guns at that point, real scary guys.

Bull fucking shit. Infinite is a pretty bad game. Shooting is clunky, bigger enemies are bullet sponges, the powers you get are completely forgettable. Try to name one without cheating.
All it had going for it was the story and characters, and the story doesn't even make sense according to the guy who wrote it.
Bioshock infinite is to shooters what the mass effect series is to rpgs. Good if you care about story, bad if you like your games to have good gameplay

Let's just quickly look at how retarded the quantum bullshit is in this game:

>Elizabeth wonders if she can create realities or if she just sees different ones. This is never resolved.
>Quantum magic somehow makes an angry ghost based on Elizabeth's imagination.
>After travelling through the Chen-Lin tears, some enemies "remember being dead". If any character can die in any reality, shouldn't they all remember their death in at least one other universe?
>Quantum particles are used to keep Columbia afloat. Except the city floats around the world and individual islands move around all the time.
>How did quantum shit make Comstock sterile?
>Why are some things constant and some things variable? What's the logic/message their?

Levine is a fucking idiot.

Bioshock 1 and 2 are both good ports on 360 and PS3. The only one that suffered from aging console hardware was Bioshock Infinite. But slightly better textures won't fix Infinite's problems.

You what? You're forced into an intro sequence with Bioshock 1 and it takes 20 minutes to get a weapon and there's another 5 minute cutscene after fighting your first enemy. You CANNOT skip this.

With Bioshock 2 there's an opening cutscene which you can skip and once it's over you wait 20 seconds for Subject Delta to get up and then you can start using your drill.

Bioshock 1 is the game which starts out slow.

Infinite should be a flatline, with a brief spike when Songbird takes Elizabeth, and then freefall for the rest of the game.

Oh and I guess the fights with Ghost Mom should be a negative spike as well. God what horrid design.

I think the short little ride to Comstock's main island was neat. Where you ride the trolley cart thing, IIRC? And you go under the gigantic carved face in the storm and rain. One of the few moments I distinctly remember. Best part of the game.

Is it really that weird that I greatly enjoyed all three games? Infinite had some odd design choices e.g. only two weapons at a time, but other than that it was excellent. Also, based Will the Circle Be Unbroken.

>it's a pointless "puzzle" that had any challenge designed out of it. There's no point in even giving the player any control at that point.

The point is just to have a piece of interactivity, to put you in the mood, just like in Half Life you have countless little interactive pieces but nobody bitches about them being meaningless, that card is just to keep you busy and not just sitting watching a cutscene.

>>333116420
the same thing could be said for other games that have interactive pieces that are completely meaningless, like opening doors, pressing a button for an elevator.

No wonder developers are turning their backs against peoppe like you, damn autistic people that just dont get a simple concept as "do it instead of watching a cutscene"

Bioshock 1 is the best game of the series, and also has superior gameplay over 2.

I know a lot of you memers out there think 2 has good gameplay, but let me tell you about a little secret; hectic, fast paced combat is not the right mood you need for a survival horror game.

It's a well known fact that Spongebob was original to be called SpongeBio to connect the Sponge and Underwater
But Stephen Hillenburg though Bio is such a deep word for a children's cartoon so he changed it to Bob.
The same thing happened with Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone being changed to Sorcerer's Stone when it was released in America.

It only takes about 10 minutes from starting up the game to get your first weapon, and there's no cutscene after fighting your first enemy. The story for BS1 is also a lot more captivating, so it's not too bad.

That said, the gameplay is pretty piss poor and saved only by the few RPG elements they decided to include.

Anybody here read Atlas Shrugged after playing Bioshock 1?

I did. The only interesting part of it was how every circumstance was written to prop up the logic of Rand's philosophy. The only time this wasn't the case was the train wreck, where she made a point to detail how every passenger that was dying was an outright scum piece of shit and deserved it - instead of making every one an innocent saint.

I stopped reading about the time Dagney got to the Gulch. I really should have stopped reading when Rand started in with the rape fetish (Dagney and Rearden and the rape sex)

Also, the one thing that bothered me about Infinite is how Salts and whatever they were, the plasmid-like powers, had literally no explanation - Bioshock 1 explained where Plasmids and Adam\EVE came from - Infinite didn't explain shit, and so the mechanic felt shoehorned in because it was in the first two games. Lazy. Fuckin. Writing.

I can look at a jet engine and have a basic understand on how it works. Doesn't mean I can build one.

Plasmids were powered by magic slugs inside little girls, so what the fuck do they use to power Salts?

Ken Levine tried to handwave it away by saying Suchong and Fink eventually collaborated through tears, but that just introduces new plotholes as to why we never heard of these fuckers in the first game (same as Bioshock 2 and their hamfisted attempt at shoehorning in Sofia Lamb).
