idk what specific custom firmware since my card was an M3Real, which is similar but different to R4. Dig through GBATemp if you find the default firmware isn't good enough for you. Some custom firmware has more features and faster load times than default, but it won't effect the actual gameplay.

Well, the N3DS users should be hesitant of using it since the downgrade has a high chance of bricking you compared to the O3DS users, but it just seems like an unnecessary hassle and worry for just a better boot chance/speed and the chance to unbrick your SysNAND.

I just did the guide. It took me like 6 hours in total. It was worth it in the end but I guess it was easy to follow but it was nerve wracking at parts and apparently one program updated which caused it to be incompatible with the latest decrypt9 release and nearly fucked up the entire process but some googling revealed a beta decrypt9 release that worked. I don't think it's easy enough that every retard with a 3DS is going to hack it.

Neither do I not care about most 3DS because 90% of them are JRPGs, the guides are fucking retarded and the only people who would be able to comprehend them is people who spend way too much time on the Internet, and I don't even use my 3DS because it's a complete disappointment compared to the original DS and a shitty system overall. Even if I could turn my 3DS into a "emulation machine", my phone can probably emulate most of the shit better and emulate N64, PS1, and PSP well too.

That would require there to be a GBA and DS Virtual Consoles on 3DS, of which there is none.
GBA "Virtual Console" are just the games recompiled to run natively in DS mode. They're not emulations, there's no emulator to inject roms into. Same with Wario Ware Touched, it's just recompiled to run natively.

I had this problem when I started downloading entire sets of ROMs for older systems.
Best way to clear away the feeling is to set up the following rule:
Once you start a game, don't play anything else until you've had your fill of said game/beat said game, depending on whether it has an "end" or not.
Trust me, when you only play one game at a time it makes the next game more enjoyable, since you've "earned" the game by meeting the arbitrary requirements you set up. It probably sounds stupid but I'm serious, beating a game feels more rewarding when you set up the reward of being able to play another game.
