I don't see why they're gonna be around much further than next gen.
The big names are straying further and further away from what makes a good console.
I JUST WANT A SYSTEM WITH GOOD GAMES AND NO STUPID SOCIAL MEDIA INTERFACE.
It will never, ever happen though.
I'm just sick of playing on my PC because the games coming out are just indie titles or stuff I'm not interested in, and being so close to internet makes my mind wander.

no, just that consoles should stick to simple interfaces - a basic front end like ps2 and stick to the games.
Remember who owns the PC platform. PCs will never be allowed to kill consoles as long as Microsoft wants to sell Xboxes. Even with Windows 10 the games /v/ celebrates as coming to PC will run in a limited 'console execution mode' and will only be available through Microsoft's new App Store.
