They did the exact same thing with Persona 4. The game came out on the PS2 in what? 2008? That's three years into the PS3's lifespan, and yet it didn't come to the PS3 until far later with the "PS2 Classic" (aka PS2 software emulator) thing.
The PS2 was at its last legs back then, it had a few games coming, but all development had mostly been transferred to the PS3. So this is exactly the same thing, almost no AAA company makes PS3 games anymore with the exception of EA and their sports games. Everything has transferred to the PS4, and now they're releasing P5 originally for the PS3, and a "HD" port on the PS4. History repeats itself.

The PS3 version is not getting cancelled, too many people still depend on it in Japan. Mayyyybe it's not getting localized, but that's unlikely, Atlus USA knows they would get so much fucking flak for doing that. A digital only release is more likely.
If they don't, I won't buy it until they either release it on the PC, or the PS4 is so hacked that I can undub it.
I'm not playing with the shitty-ass English dubbing. It's a game that takes place in Japan, with Japanese characters, with Japanese culture. I'm not listening to Antony Burch or his fucking wife, especially when the Japanese voice cast is like a dream come true.
