DaS3 = BB > DaS > DeS >>> DaS2 SOTFS > DaS2
Bloodborne is amazing because of it's atmosphere and world building, Dark Souls 3 is amazing because of its combat, item variety, and some fantastic bosses.
I thought it lived up to DaS. I didn't get any of the wild framerate dips you see in that one webm on my PS4.

Not him but people seem to forget the shitfest of what follows after anor londo. Go back and replay the game right now, its nostalgia that is holding your praise, not the quality of the game. DaS is my favourite because of the world it built, but I simply cannot put it above BB in terms of quality, BB never has that "for fuck sake, its that part of the game" moment, its consistently good throughout.

DaS1 isn't the rough diamond it once was, other than having more weapons/build variety, BB improved on every aspect, and DaS3 looks like it carries all that over and adds the build variety from Souls games on top of it.

I really hate that BB comes up in every DaS3 discussion. It's not a mainline entry, and the only people who CAN shill it are sonyfriends, which makes me automatically assume there's a bias.

For the first time I played any of these games singleplayer it was with BB, and I honestly believe that this was a better experience, these games are singleplayer with online tacted onto it, they arent the reason for the game to exist, they are good when noone is playing it and are good when the multiplayer is dead. I would suggest you play through the game and if you like it get PS+ and participate in coop and pvp.

As someone else pointed out, it never has that low point that DaS has that comes after anor londo and maintains a constant level of good quality throughout, but for me personally DaS is better simply because of the world its set in, I like my fantasy generic. Im not a fan of victorian era settings at all actually and I didnt get the game till way later because of this, the game was so good I was able to look past the sicknasty aesthetic and just enjoy a genuinely good game. Sorely hoping DaS3 holds up to the same standards of quality throughout.

I've played DaS1 quite a bit, including a run within the past couple of weeks and I disagree with the 'drag' that occurs after Anor Londo. A lot of important lore occurs afterward, and there's a lot of exploration left. Gating that portion of the game is a smart design move, and I don't get what the issue is. The enemies, bosses and areas are very straightforward from that point on, the level designs themselves looks great, but in effect the actual path layouts are just plain boring narrow walkways that lead in one direction and the enemies on these paths are very basic to fight. Dont even get me started on Lost Izaleth, that is far and away the lowest point of all the games.
