When the void lords die, they will reveal that Naaru and the light and all the benevolent entities are the same shit but with glowy colors. This is proven by them being able to "corrupt" fel entities like dreadlords. So players must now fight against the light and every creature they "corrupted" to be turbo holy. The entire story finally ends with "everyone being masters of their own fate" or some shit when all the higher entities are gone. Watch me, they will fucking do this too.

I think it's because the WoW team has somehow come to the conclusion that the core theme behind the IP is the corruption/redemption cycle. The theme is heavily featured in W3 and was a part of many questlines since Vanilla. I think the problem is that the writing team decided to make corruption a tangible, discrete force in the universe. In many ways their handling of the concept is like Star Wars midichlorians. They misunderstood what was intriguing about corruption and gutted the theme of the nuance and personality. At some point they began writing to fulfill objectives instead of writing good stories and plopping objectives around them.
