Do digital games run better on consoles than discs?

Do disc heat consoles up more and take longer to load?
>>
Nowadays, consoles install all their content to the HDD anyway.
>>
The difference is neglible.

They run better on a ssd

About Heat: It depends.

Let's take two good examples with the Wii U and PS4.

PS4 has shoddy rushed hardware. In Sony's mind, they thought it was a good idea to put the power brick inside the system. You already have a wobbly console with shitty internals and poor fans working to keep the system cool, which is almost impossible with that brick emitting heat.

Poor decision.

Now let's look at the superior Wii U hardware. Not only does it use less energy, but it has fans and ventilation intake that actually keeps the system cool. The disc drive can spin for periods of time, and the discs might not even be warm when ejected on a good weather day. This is partially because the system has the power brick outside of the console and the wonderful fan it uses.

Of course both systems will become hotter during a warm day.

I miss the days when systems were quiet and controllers were wired. Systems now are too noisy, and the disc reading is noisy. Also the controllers these days are too heavy because of wireless and battery internals. Try holding a SNES controller. Comfee because of how light it is.

Also I would think a game runs faster on a SSD over a HDD and over a disc read.

Dont they add weights to make em fel heavier?

When it comes to heat management that is a good idea.

>good

You fucking lazy as shit "nah I just want to plug in a cable because it looks visually pleasing" faggots need to be re-educated.

>Prefer to buy games digitally now, hate physical.
>Will only buy physical copies of movies

This doesn't make any sense to me, and I don't understand why I do this.

i feel like digital versions tend to run the same or sometimes worse than disc versions. digital games have quicker load times tho

You were talking about hardware placement, you mong
The hardware placement might be good, but the hardware is piss in a puddle

Because digital = physical game in quality.

Meanwhile a blu-ray > HD stream of a movie in picture and sound quality.

>tfw the industry has seriously gotten a shit ton of money by selling "High Definition Digital" versions of their films which all look like shit
>>

Most people like heavier controllers because it makes them feel sturdier. However, most of the weight is simply because controllers have so much more shit today. Several motors for vibration, internal batteries, gyros, whatever.

Take the N64 controller, and then add on the rumble pack. That increased the weight of the controller by 50% alone, before putting batteries in it.

I do the same, but that's because Hollywood doesn't trust me to watch movies without needing an internet connection or some proprietary bullshit.
