Tips on using Vergil in DMC4:SE? The concentration bar is a good idea but it's taking a while to get used to playing like that.

I really enjoy Vergil in 4SE but to do well as him you basically need to be good at the game on a basic level. the whole point is don't get hit.
just don't get hit. that's all there is to it.
obviously though without basic skills and practice you WILL get hit though, so that's when he becomes difficult to get style points. you need concentration to get style, and you lose BOTH if you get hit.

On a PS3 controller, melee attack is square, jump is X, and guns are R1. That's probably the most basic JC setup, allowing you to slide your thumb from melee attack to jump without any difficulties while charging your guns (as Nero, Lady or Dante) or spamming summoned swords (as Vergil or DT Nero)

Have you successfully JC'd before? I find that once you've done it a couple of times it becomes a lot easier to do.
A good place to start is in DMC3 with Cerberus. Just mash attack and jump until you get a rhythm down that lets you hit things with the midair flip attack.

First off, it's not just one glitch. DmC is one of the buggiest fucking games out there, and they never fixed it even after multiple releases.
The combat is worse than every other installment bar DMC2. And the story is somehow WORSE than DMC2's, because DMC2 at least had the decency to not outright insult you.

DmC:DMC had bad character design, retarded plot and babies first character action levels of game play.
DmC:DMC had interesting visuals like the purgatory stuff, and it also had a couple interesting (but really weird) boss designs.
All in all, DmC:DMC is a very poor DMC game but a good Castlevania: Lords of Shadow/Heavenly Sword game.
