they're dirt cheap. And even if they're broken, 99% of the time it's just a loose/crudded up connector which can be boiled and bent back in to shape, or a fucky lockout chip which can just have the pin that sends the reset signal cut (whoever designed that was a genius, make it so you can just cut the pin and it bypasses the lockout chip entirely)
