I honestly prefer the new Lara. The Anniversary/Underworld incarnations struck me as an odd compromise between "realism" and some form of "cartoonishly sexy." The end result was a character that looks weird in renders and almost bizarre when standing next to other characters in her own games.
For all the RotTR's faults, the visuals and especially character designs were stellar across the board.
