I got about a full leveling experience worth of entertainment out of GW2. It was probably worth the one time payment, but it just wasn't that good. Also, they have somehow actively made it worse with a majority of updates, and I'm pretty sure Izzy or whoever is involved with balance just smashes their hands on the keyboards to make decisions still.

Doing the world once over is pretty fun, but I've met a lot of people that went into it wanting to place a specific class and expecting it to meet what they think the class should be, rather than what it is.
The archetypes didn't quite fit what people were expecting, and so they were bored. You had to find what you enjoyed playing.
It's not great, by any stretch of the imagination, but I honestly do enjoy it and go back for a weeks jaunt every now and again.

Ignoring the game itself, I really enjoyed how F4 had this extremely deadly region that actually was "outside" of the game map. It felt like a taboo, like you really shouldn't be there. The guy who came up with this idea is cool.
