Red Army was extremely disorganized and lost a lot of weapons and tech during the beginning of the war, but they've gotten their shit together - mostly. T-34 was probably the most successful tank design of WW2, it wasn't the heaviest, didn't have the best armour or weapon, lacked radio (very bad), but it was relatively easy to produce and repair, which allowed the victory over technically superior Tigers (which were relatively rare).
And later in the war Red Army was well armed by SMGs and semi-auto rifles. They didn't use only Mosins all the way in.
