Fucking this. It's all the same shit currently. However new tech needs to be made before something like StarVR can be true to its image. What I'm saying is that I've tried StarVR and it's shit. It sacrifices literally everything for FOV and even then you have a black bar in the middle because it doesn't have as much stereo overlap as even the Rift. Also, as an owner of a Vive, the VR right now is pretty gimmicky, doesn't matter if it's room scale. I'm a beta tester. It's only fun for like a week and then it's mostly a dust collector as the wow factor wears off and content isn't much. There's maybe a handful of titles that might be worth a few hours of playtime.
