I travel a lot. What device should I get to emulate games? I've heard decent things about pic related but /v/ generally knows their stuff seven times out of ten so I'm probably wrong in every imaginable way.

I have a psp and it can play emulated GBA games, psp games and ps1 games whether they were officially released on psp or not.
Honestly though, I'd just buy a nice phone if i were you since its one less thing to carry around, it plays all those systems and more, and it allows you to play the rare worthwhile mobile game.
The latest Android phone or iPhone combined with a gamepad will run pretty much any emulator out there at full speed. In addition a lot of companies are figuring out how to port their PS2 games to Android, something even the PSP or Vita (not easily hacked) can't do.

Ok, since everyone else in this thread is a fucking moron, the S7800 will play up to N64 and most PS1 games. Dreamcast is coming along, but it still lags like shit and probaby won't ever be great. PS2 won't happen on it. The dual analogs are far better than any PSP, and mapping is better. The S192 was supposed to release in early February, but it has been delayed. It will be better in every way, since it has a K1, but who the fuck knows when it will come out. Ignore all people saying to get a phone and using a PS4 controller. It works well but is cumbersome and kills the one thing you NEED to make calls and texts, which is huge on a business trip.

Don't do it anon, I've had two of these and both of them ended with exploding battery syndrome (they didn't actually explode, but they got swollen to the point that the device itself was deformed, shit's dangerous)
Instead what I do now, and works beautifully, is to use a Dualshock 4 paired to a high end Android smartphone (can do it natively if Xperia, but it works on other phones if you use the Sixaxis Controller app).
The Dualshock 4 is physically attached to the smartphone so that it's like a handheld console. There is an official Sony accessory for this that works fucking great, the "GCM10".
I don't even have a PS4. The Dualshock 4 is my dedicated handheld gaming controller and shit's really, really good. Works beautifully with Retroarch and even native Android games.
My advice is to go this route and to never look at chink handhelds ever again unless you want to waste your money and set yourself and your house on fire.
It doesn't need to be a Dualshock if you don't like it for whatever reason. I haven't personally used them, but other Android controllers should work fine. GCM10 only works with DS4, but there are others that work with a DS3, and other controllers that hold the phone by themselves through built-in clamps and whatnot.

I just carry my 3DS with pic related. It plays GBA and SNES pretty solid, so it works for me. Dont care enough about PSP/PS1 games to justify getting something else.

GameKlip. It's Android plus a PS3 controller. It's a top tier experience since the PS3 controller is actually decent. The d-pad is great for older systems. Sticks work well.

I got one of these.
Emulates up to PSP and Dreamcast really well. (Though the latest android builds of PPSSPP are unstable due to them fucking around with vulkan, so I'd suggest an older build for stability. But on the latest build, with frameskip set to 1 even the most stubborn of PSP games like Tekken 6 and Outrun 2006 run great)
The battery life is really good, though the only issue it might have for people is no clickable sticks, and the d-pad and face buttons can be a little bit mushy, and the shoulder buttons can come loose a little if you try to wedge it into a tight pocket for instance. (Though people have modded the d-pads to replace with wiimote d-pads with good success)
I'm using the legacy rom in mine, so it replaces the bloat-filled stock rom. (And spoofs a Nexus 5 for better app compatibility)
Words going around that GPD plan to update it to Marshmallow soon, though I don't see how its going to benefit from it much.

Mine's on 1.8. I might downclock and see if it helps. But I suspect that they are doing a lot of heavy work on PPSSPP right now.
(Since overclocking before made virtually no difference with older PPSSPP builds. Even though it's unstable the latest builds allow you to turn off all the speedhacks, sans disabling mipmapping, and just having frameskip set to 1 and most games work at fullspeed with very little lag)

To give a good example.
Gitaroo Man is now fully playable. Before PPSSPP had a glitch where if you set audio latency to low, it actually would make the audio come out too early. And the guitar would sound awful no matter what.
In this build, if you set the latency to low, audio sync, and sound speed hack to on, it works perfect.
I can prove this because I was able to beat Zoe no sweat, and get all the way Mojo King bee on Master Mode, (where my actual skill on the PSP version caps).

It's fine but the thing that always bother me is the weight of the phone, since all the heavy stuff is on the bottom half the phone always felt like it had uneven weight distribution depending on the way you hold it. Because of that I dropped it a lot compared to any other phone.
