It's not fun because the raids aren't actually hard. All they are, are 100% scripted dances you have to rehearse several times then perform like a Simon Says. There's basically no game to speak of. No reaction or excitement. The most interesting it gets is when you get a mechanic you haven't seen and you need to figure out a way the developers want you to work with it. After that it's just a chore.

Yeah they're roughly 29-30 min long depending on the server cluster. The nice thing about FFXIV though is that healers and tanks have DPS rotations that allow you to do shit besides their intended role. Dancing around AoE's and going HAM as melee DPS is why I enjoy Dark Knight so much.

MNK is comparatively simple to play but a lot of fun when you get into gear and never drop greased lightning even on a long encounter. Not much burst damage but inherent 15% haste and a 30% crit chance boost makes for a lot of pretty numbers.
