Making an air combat game.

Finished the volumetric clouds, combat will take place almost on ground level and at a higher altitude as well. This is how the sky looks from the ground.

I also got networking going, but I'm using placeholder assets for that and they aren't worth showing.

And this is how it looks at the cloud's level. It's just really foggy, so high altitude missions will probably take place either below or above them but not inside.

Started making a quick game in Unity.
It's going to be really simple as I just want to get it out.

I got inspired by Ultimate Arena that sold all those emoticons on Steam, so I plan on using it for emoticons and selling it for $2.00

Here's a pic of it right now showing off some features. (graphics are all placeholders)
>I'm not sure why it froze for a second when he died, but it doesn't happen when I'm not recording
The gameplay is going to be a series of small levels where you go from a start point to an endpoint.
If you die, you restart your current level.
The basic controls are "WASD/Arrows" for movement, "Left click/Space" for shoot.
Different levels may have different mechanics if I feel like it since each level is completely independent. And they're all supposed to be quick, 2-3 minutes max
Every 10 levels I'm going to have a boss or something, maybe every 15. I'll decide later on once I make a bunch of levels.

The goal of this project is to complete it super fast since I'm more interested in the emoticons than I am the game. Plus, because every room is self contained, I can do anything I want without worrying about any of the other levels. If I want the player to have totally different controls, I can do that by just making a new player script and using that instead of the default prefab in that level. It makes levels super quick to develop and easy to add unique features.

I expect the hardest part of this project will be coming up with levels (and steam integration since I haven't done it yet)

I was thinking about handling it how Valdis Story handles vertical enemy colisions, where you don't actually land on the enemy you slide downwards in a direction (unless the enemy is frozen then you can use it as a platform). But I'm not entirely sure how to implement that yet. Probably need to learn how slopes work first.

Thank you thank you. The performance hit is pretty strong, I wouldn't use it in a normal game but since the clouds are the main feature of the environment I think it's alright. They don't affect the framerate anymore than a normal ground environment with trees and grass would.

>>332950086
UE has support for lit translucency, after that it's making the instancing of the clouds lighter on the GPU, LoD, and a lot of tweaking to get a nice look. The cirrucumulus are just a 2d texture, which is very obvious if you pay attention to them. I'll see if I can fix them.

School's a bitch. Haven't had real time to actually code anything for this game. I got two coding assignments due this upcoming week, and a paper.

We have most of the introduction idea in place, the games main style being 2D.
My music guy hasn't thrown anything at me for the game, either, but he has actual work that has his real name on it. Don't think he'd be happy with me giving out his stuff.

Pretty gewd.

Working on a very simplified Darkest Dungeon styled lewd game.

I want to make it web based so I'm looking into some node.js stuff and am planning out data structures for how I want to handle events.

2D scrolling shooter, with possible left-to-right exploration as an additional.

The main character would be either female or male by users choice, and he would have certain skills already provided in the start, and stick to those skills through pretty much the whole game.

It may shift to primarily 2D exploration, because of the direction the game is going, but I still have the chance to make it a shooter. It's a toss up.

It's going slow. Made it so there's always at least a couple AIs chasing the player, and also fixed some stuff that caused the AI to spazz out and change targets every two seconds. Also some HUD indicators to show the player who's chasing them

Hopefully this will make the difficulty a bit more constant since it used to be possible to have no one going after the player, which meant there was no challenge whatsoever
>>
>>332954057
Yep. :^)

People generally don't refund games that they like and think are fairly priced.

Why though?
>>
>>332957169

Partially since I have experience in that field and partially because as an excuse to try some things I don't do at work to expand my skillset. I could theoretically do my idea in Ren'py, but I dislike Python and feel like a HTML5 game is both easy for users to access and would allow me to add new content to the game easily once I have the structure in place.
