A huge problem I have with SO is how clunky the combat is and the severe lack of skills. You can only map two skills per range and you'll end up spamming those two like crazy Some of the skills aren't even chain-able for a good chunk at the start I was really hoping SO5 would allow for more skills but it's the same shit and they reused a lot of the skills from SO3. The only thing they added was a guard and counter. This is why I prefer Tales games so much more. They have a lot more depth put to them. Hoping Berseria will be better than Shitiria.

I never use FAQs for star ocean. I'd just do an extra sweet of item generation points in 4 to see if there was something rare. I don't recall needing too much in the way of drops from monsters for creating stuff mid game. Usually if I wasn't able to make whatever the next upgrade was I'd just skip it out of laziness. Yeah but this is an extremely rare case. For the amount of lewd products or lewd characters coming out of Japan, almost none of them get censored from the base product. Final Fantasy IV takes like 8 hours to beat, who cares. Plus these numbers aren't objective, I see a lot of people on /v/ saying the original Dark Souls took them 10-15 hours, it took me like 70 hours the first time I played it to get to demon firesage, and then when I played it again 2 years later it took me 50 hours even though I had seen everything except 3 areas previously
After MGSV I really don't care about trying to get an hour of gameplay for every dollar I spend on a game, I'd rather have a good game that takes 15 hours to beat than a piece of shit that I played for 120 hours

20-30 hours is objectively the best length of time for a game.
It gives you a good amount of game, without needing lots of padding and without the game mechanics becoming stale.

There is a dungeon near where you encounter Roger if you meet him in the cage. The dungeon and that encounter are completely optional. I remember because I went there way later in the game when I was lost and trying to find out where to go and found that dungeon thinking I was making progress. But the enemies were super weak and there wasn't anything to do. Found out on another playthrough where I looked for Roger that that dungeon was related to him.
