I'm good. It won't stop spying on you, even after you think you've removed them.

I don't live in North Korea, and I live in a country which guarantees some measure of privacy. Therefore, Microshaft should not be spying on it's customers from my country.
The argument that you're using an operating system which spies on you, and you know it does, is invalid. Especially due to the market share of software Windows has. Microsoft has a responsibility, as the provider of the default operating system of the planet, to provide the best possible operating system, without violating human rights.

>>
I don't care how good it is.
I don't care what you can and cannot turn off or diable.
I don't care how much better or worse people can spy on me with it.

I simply do not trust a free OS upgrade from a company that basically runs the entire modern world. It's as simple as that.

I'm not naive enough to think Microsoft isn't doing something shady somewhere, somehow, at some point in time with Windows 10 that they wouldn't fully disclose.

It being a free upgrade is a red flag. Everything else issues wise is irrelevant to me.

Will see in the next few years what happens, but it's not mandatory so I'm not doing it.

Enjoy your much better operating system that does absolutely nothing wrong whatsoever and is perfect in every way and also better than any previous installment apparently.

Used to be on Win 10 for awhile. It was alright, but the spying part bothered me. Put Windows 7 back on and removed the telemetry updates, and put W10 on a separate drive with next to nothing installed solely for W10 games.

Honestly, with the way Windows is going I am seriously considering making my gaming PC solely for games alone and getting a separate PC and going Linux as my main driver. Too much bullshit.

You can't completely remove the botnet, Windows 10 is build upon it. You can, however, drastically reduce the amount of data collection on you by installing "Windows 10 Enterprise N LTSB" (Long-Term Serrvice Branch) edition.
It's pretty much stripped of 90% of the telemetry and it will not install updates, you'll be notified about updates available but won't force anything on you.

So install Win10 E N LTSB edition then follow the pastebin here to pretty much get the 'least' amount of data collection on you.

Yeah, and then you get an unavoidable automatic update that reinstalls it and patches out any workarounds.

Windows 10 literally bypasses your hosts-file to send your personal data home. It's hardcoded to be a worse security risk than viruses. It should tell you more than enough what kind of shit you're getting into when Microshill is sneaking in the spyware features into 7 and 8 updates without telling to anyone when it looks like people aren't "upgrading".

Now what they shouldn't be able to do is give any of their information to the goverment, that is bullshit since a goverment shouldn't be too dependent on commercial ventures to function.

Wallets are not a good way to vote, given the current situation. That's like voting for socialized health care by getting everyone to shoot themselves in the foot.

Windows has most of the software available on it. This is especially true in games, where MS has been the dominant platform for more than twenty years. We should be able to use legislation to control what Microsoft can and cannot do.

I totally agree that they should not be giving up any information to the government.

Again. We should vote with out wallets. Don't want games on a shitty system? Don't buy them, and make sure they know why you don't buy them.

Helping collecting data does help a businesses decide how to better their products, even if it's often being used for nefarious purposes, what I would push for is them not having a chance to spread that data outside their company rather than outright banning it.

Just because us few doesn't like where the current market trend is or is heading doesn't mean we should legislate it.

That's because people have already voted, and they voted in favor of their information for the product.

We should try to inform people, show them that they shouldn't stand for this. Not pass a low for every little thing we don't like.

I don't, and if they did I wouldn't shop there. Simple as that, we don't need a law to tell them to not do it. All we need is a law that stops them from divulging any of that information to other parties, namely the government.

>Why on earth would you ever be okay with Microsoft looking at your keystrokes and browsing history, without even asking your permission first?
I'm not, which is why I'm using Linux most of the time.

And they did ask permission.

Sorry but no.
It won't be better until the input lag with windowed mode dies off. As far as I can see Direct X 12 is completely useless.

>windowed mode

Please no. Does that mean my ScummVM games will be laggy as well?

Well the lag is only really noticeable in games that use the mouse any.

NIGGER THERE IS NO OTHER OS TO VOTE WITH MY WALLET, STOP SAYING TO DO SOMETHING THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DO IN THE CURRENT SITUATION WHEN YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT INDEED IT IS IMPOSSIBLE. WHAT YOU ARE SUGGESTING WOULD BE THE LITERAL DEATH OF PC GAMING.

Nigger, its data collecting. Its a inherent breaking of one of the most basic human rights, and they break it for cash. Be it for advertisement or just selling it to governments/shady as fuck companies, its still fucking wrong by default. Why do you defend a company compromised of adult individuals anon. They know what they are doing, and they have though about it, planned it, and executed it. There is no good side to this, or are you the kind of person who bitched when basic customer rights forced valve to do refunds.

There is no voting with our wallets in this current age you stubborn dolt. Anyone that has though about it for a whjile and has seen how shit is managed knows this, if shit doesn't sell, they will just make it worse and worse untill it sells or makes money, one way or the other.
