It being illegal actually means more are harmed. It will always be a thing, it's impossible to get rid of, so it would be much safer if it were done in a professional environment. Still wouldn't be very interested in it since 2D is so vastly superior, but if there were more actual studios that handled it that had to follow abuse laws and all that, less kids would be hurt by it and the people who have to have CP would still get it. It would effectively remove most of the need for all of those homemade videos that are basically snuff films. Of course, some people would still want those, and there's no redeeming people like that who actually want to see children legitimately harmed.
