The platinum demo was incredible. I loved the dining room environment especially, settings like that give you a lot of room for interesting mechanics and gameplay opportunities. If the whole game is roaming a big field or driving on a road I'll get bored quickly, but if they do switch it up and have dream segments/more fantastical locations I'll love it.

MGS5 was severely unfinished and screwed with established lore and characters.
For FF15 to not deliver it would need to run like shit, play like shit and have a shit story & characters which doesn't really seem that likely based off what we've seen and played so far. SE also isn't exactly rushing out this game.

Personally hated X - played it thoroughly out of some desperate commitment to the franchise - but hated all of the steps backward and the voice acting. Good friends of mine bought me the X-2 as a birthday gift - knew I was a FF fan. Never even bothered playing it. Still have it sitting on a shelf because it was a gift.
FF the franchise died after 9. That's why so many are clamoring for a FF7 remake instead of "Falling in love" with anything that has come since X.
JRPG's in general have died from their late 90's and before themes. The genre has become more fantastical - fine. More "manga" melodramatic - fine. But it wasn't always that way.
JRPGs were generally my introduction to gaming beyond the hurrdurr of side scrollers - but after 9 I started to look toward WRPG's for anything resembling the formula (Baldurs gate/ M&M formula is the closest I came).
Nearly everything since X has been - eh, not for me.
They minimized the larger adult themes and grander story and keep dwelling on this weird psychedelic narrative style story telling where nothing makes sense and you just don't care because nothing makes sense or follows any logic. No - it's not because we "don't get it mannn" - it's shit story telling.

The ultimate collectors editon comes with a play arts kai Noctis statue but it looks stupid as fuck and it cost about 270 bucks. If you thought the LE was bad just for having some dlc and a steelbook, the UCE only addd a statue and charchters on the steelbooks instead of Yoshitaka Amano artwork which is superior to the art used in the UCE.

Lightning Returns has 0 problems on PC. You know how XIII and XIII-2 have framerate dips throughout? Lightning Returns doesn't have that. It was a perfect port. Also the XIII and XIII-2 games you mention, while they are flawed, are still the best existing versions of the game.
Anyways, while Lightning Returns was a perfect port (and also the most recent port), the last FF port before it was Type 0 HD, and that was also pretty good. Still has that damn 30FPS lock, but that can't be helped considering how the game was designed way back on PSP. Some people claim their beefy computers can't handle it, but that only happens if you max AA settings, since that renders the game at 4k and then downsamples it. So people rendered the game at 4k and then wondered why they couldn't run it.

Seriously, you niggas can do aerial combat, all sorts of blocks and dodges, each weapon has multiple special moves, and a surprising amount of depth for a stripped down demo.
Oh, and if you do use the right timing, YOU CAN perfect dodge cancel from MOST attack animations- there are some that you can't (mostly great sword), air attacks you must use an aerial rave dodge, which has more strict timing and doesn't require any presses of square at all. Not every attack can be dodged by holding down square. Some attacks you must have pressed square within a certain time frame of the enemies attack.

Know the frame drops when Noct transforms back to a kid - It's probably just because of the demo. It's caused by the engine accessing and quickly (as fast as possible) switching the assets between young Noct and Adult Noct. In the final game there might be no such transitions and this could simply be the mechanic they have for the demo in order to hide the story. If not they really need to fix that.
I will give you guys a little spoiler of the game, its barely out there but.The reason the trailers focus so much on your friends, is because it is trying to tell you to cherish them, think of it along the lines of a Social Link from Persona "and Square even made a poll, which will you buy, Persona or FF15" and the game will have a few differences in endings. If Noct goes it alone and forgoe's his friends, or saves his friends and unite as one sorta deal. So if you dont bond, one of them may die, or all of them, and ultimately perhaps you resulting in a sad ending.
This is one of the reasons the game got reworked again, because they wanted players to feel like its a set in stone type game, and a little bit more fluid. This game is going to be a major homage to the other games in the series, you will see the old crystal guardians, and its similar to FF6 or FF14, or 9 in ways. A nation under machines, rather then crystals, dont depend on the crystals, depend on man.

It's not like it is in America where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in Japan, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.
What this means is the japanese public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase FFXV for either system, nor will they purchase any of Square's games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Square has alienated an entire market with this move.

The game doesn't run that well, but it's impressive they've managed to get that level of visuals out of the PS4 at all. There's a lot of effects going on, good draw distance, and they demonstrated things like realistic physics with the wooden block towers as well. I'm pretty happy with it. The game doesn't come out for another 6 months as well, so they'll be finetuning performance for the next 3.

I'm expecting a narrative along these lines.
It's a story of Noct living his life and growing old - equal parts along the way. Young boy and his trials and tribulations there. Young adult and getting married while building "Adult" connections with his friend and guard. Then growing older where the world is no longer black and white but everything is more complicated.
What would be ingenious story telling (therefore won't happen) is that your childhood and young adulthood friends, that the game spends 3/4s of the narrative developing - become the main players in the advasarial conclusion. Not all go against you - but some do, while some sacrifice themselves for you - have really rich, complex and logical conflicts in the narrative.
Things change over a lifetime - don't make any one side simply "Evil" - make it so you are conflicted with taking on whatever challenge because it means blah blah blah - you get it.
It won't happen - but it would have been cool if it did.
