I guess its just a preference thing then, I don't like the small Tic-Tac-Toe-ish board in Triple Triad, and I like the random boards in Tetra Master, I also like that you have a small chance to win against a strong card with weak card, as opposed to Triple Triad where the higher number always wins.

You don't need to play the other CDs to find the reason why people prefer Triple Triad over Tetra Master (and why your "higher numbers are better" comment is bullshit).
You will find more complex combination of rules and ways to "control" them as you progress in the main storyline, but you can get out of the babby's first TT rule set really early in the game.
