I believe this one lets you play as an Officer, so yeah. Though I still think RoTK 8 is the best one for from nobody to greatest hero in the land second to none.
Does it let you run around as a solo soldier doing your own thing or are they still trying their hearts out to make a RTK 4x game?

8 really is the best one for that, at least of the ones I've played I don't know how it works out in XIII. 7 is kind of basic, 10 isn't very deep either but you can roam around with your own personal unit and fight bandits, fight armies or even attack and take cities if you're really skilled (at abusing AI)

The negative ratings come mostly from the game being 90 bucks expensive.
That and the broken launch that got fixed after an hour.
Wonder why they never did a sort of RPG Nobunaga's Ambition like they have with RoTK, I know the RoTK ones were based of a Sengoku era game
