Endor and Survivors on Endor are far from fucking empty, EA Hoth is way better than BF2 hoth, even the Tatooine maps feel more like Tatooine. Then the outer rim maps shit all over everything in the base game and anything pandemic did.

Barely any vehicle pickups and doesn't even have ewoks that do anything.
EA Hoth doesn't even have Tauntauns, so they already fucked up the basics.
There's also the fact that BF2 has locations that EA Front doesn't even have and there are tons of great fan made maps in BF2

EA maps are repetitive and dull. They all play out the same way with little variation, largely due to the linear game modes.

On the other hand, Battlefront has open-ended maps with room for variation, experimentation and endless replayablity.
Depending on the command post you spawn at, the order you take the command posts, the era you're playing, the side you're playing as, the mods you've installed and whether or not you take a vehicle or ship, the game can play out drastically differently every time.

This is what has kept people posting about and playing Battlefront for over a decade, while EAfront is struggling to uphold a playerbase after a few months.

And I'll agree that Hoth is a shitty Battlefront map. Too open for my tastes.

Here are the objective best maps:

The Republic were so fun to play not because they were a particularly good side, but because the CIS were so fun to play against.

Those droids were extremely satisfying to kill, and droidikas were a real challenge that broke up the monotony of shooting humanoids the whole time.

Also, having set classes also gave the game more variety and replayability.

Choosing your own loadout means you can construct a class that's objectively better than another. When this happens, you'll rarely swap between classes/loadouts, and when you do you'll likely still keep much of the same gear, perhaps only changing the lead weapon.

By having set classes with situation strengths you'll be forced to swap classes more often, and each time you swap you'll have a drastically different gameplay experience.

This keeps things fresh in a way EAfront doesn't.

>Bespin: Platforms
This has the most intense choke point in all BF1 maps. It's also got plenty of vertical elevation, and NO open spaces. It's a series of narrow platforms; it's the opposite of flat and open.

>Geonosis: Freight Dock
Again, this has plenty of vertical variation. It's also rather small, and has a good mix of close to medium ranged combat.
It's not an open or flat map.

This is the king of map variation.

It's got it all.

The only map in that list that's remotely flat and open is Kashyyk: Docks, but it's a sniper and vehicle focused map which makes that appropriate.

Call me old-mannered but I still think Team Fortress 2 is the best game as far as teamplay go.
Until they added the hat.

I mean, I tried Tribes Ascend, it was shit. You can optimize your weapons with experience.
Which means your efficiency is capped by the game, while TF2 doesn't put a similar cap. There's no better weapon with more ammos.

TF is casual as fuck but it did classes right. Lots of variety and relatively good balance is all you can ask for.

Battlefront did classes well too, except for engineers in BF2 which were great is most circumstances.

Killing Floor is the most overrated game in /v/ history.
At least other "overrated" games, like Dark Souls, are still genuinely good games — Killing floor is just plain bad.
