The idea is they're still mistrusted by vampires at large or at least considered backstabbers. But mechanically, they have no important flaw like other clans. I guess Revised added the fact they can be blood bound to anyone with two blood intakes instead of three, but that's still highly situational and completely avoidable mainly just reinforcing the whole "you're blood bound to the clan and don't you ever forget it".

Not in the Camarilla. Most of the Camarilla deny the existence of the Antediluvians entirely. It's hard to do that and still claim that Tremere diablerized Saulot. Besides, the Tremere have been a clan for a thousand years and with the Camarilla from the get-go. Most modern night Elders aren't a thousand years old. Most probably don't even predate the Anarch Revolt in the 15th century.
