Is Earthbound still worth playing, or should I just play mother 3?

Play the GBA fan translation of Mother 1. Trust me on this, it has an "easy ring" which you'll need unless you love grinding mindlessly for hours.

Mother 1 is a bit hard since Mother 2 basically goes over every point line-for-line and does it better, but it still made me fucking cry at the end.
Earthbound is basically just mother+ rather than Mother 2, though.

i played it on gba4ios, and while I stopped using the easy ring because it got too easy, the speed-up function helped enormously. Idk if I could play it without that desu. It really deserves a remake because it was great, but I can 100% understand why people wouldn't want to play it now.
The original is the best game. The atmosphere trumps the other two easily.
Also, the Easy Ring the fan translation adds does nothing but make the game a joke, considering you can easily beat the game with everyone at level 25.

I'm surprised how easy the game was itself without easy ring. But FUCK the cars and their exhaust.
You should play 2 first, as there are some references to it you wont want to miss, and some characters carry over. Mother 1 can be played like a prequel if old NES rpgs are your thing.
