I would argue better, because we knew and know there will be new Zelda and Smash games. By 2022, we'll probably have, or be talking about an up and coming Zelda game after this one coming out. Not to say it somehow makes them worse, I was hyped as all fuck for both of those, but they are expected.
But FFVII remake was different. People have been humming about this since that PS3 tech demo they did so many years ago. Most people just stopped thinking it would even happen. And then Square did a pretty goddamn impressive job, in this day and age, to keep that huge reveal from leaking before the announcement.
