It's only bad if you expect it to be a good RPG. As an open-world action game along the lines of Far Cry 3 and what not, it's pretty decent. Better than Fallout 3 at least.

Cutscenes are a bit annoying, but beyond that it's just as rooty-tooty point'n'shooty as the first two, plus it does escort missions right for the first time since RE4. The multiplayer also showed some promise (though hackers ruined it).
