I worked at a vet for 7-8 years, it was always pretty sad having to see dogs/cats get put down, you get used to it after awhile, but it still kind of sucks. Worse one that ever happened was I had to hold my own dog while he was dying and preparing to put him down. He started having seizures when I came home from work one night and he was already pretty far into cancer and we had been debating putting him down. Thankfully my doctor was still at the vet, I had to hold him for the process, but I'm glad I didn't have to take him somewhere else.
