I own both. I prefer the Slim because its lighter and I don't have to worry about owning a proprietary charging cable. Build quality is nowhere near OLED, but overall I prefer it as a portable device.

I have both vitas, 1k looks and feels better. 2k is light and better in my hands in long play periods but feels like a plastic toy.
Battery life is almost never an issue for me because I have a small 1k cable and the usb end can be pluged into any 5v usb power plug. 1k suck massive dick in the sun.
Really you should own both for a combined 128 gig memory or 120 gigs the way my vitas count it.
