new to emulation? That's how it's always been, for just about every console. The reasons simple as well: every game used to be very different.

But that's not true.
PCSX2 is literally the emulator that takes most configuration to run games well.

My personal favorites are Black, Seek and Destroy (A little-known weird-ass japanese tank game where the world is inhabited by talking tanks and you go around and buy giant chainsaws for your tank and triple-stack missile launchers, then compete in party games for money with which to- you get the point), and Conflict: Desert Storm 2.

>>
>>332684453
You need to qualify it with "don't under any circumstances pick to follow that bitch", I've beaten the game 5 times and all 5 were on human path, I tried monster 3 times and just had to fucking stop, it's like they got to it and were just tired of developing the game so they gave it a barebones storyline and shitty teammates and called it quits.

Patch up KH2. Make it KH2FM. there are websites for this.

Actually if you really wanna test, KH1 is a bigger test, it seems to run slower than kh2, despite KH2 having better graphics.

however, an ACTUAL TEST. GRAN TURISMO 4. The Ps2 even struggled through that one.

>PCSX2 is literally the emulator that takes most configuration to run games well.
That's because it's relatively "new" and super complex platform. Wii emulation is better, but only because of easier architecture, and it still requires tweaking.

similarly, plenty of PS1 and N64 games require tweaking or using custom-made plugins or even emulators to run decently.

Not entirely correct.

An example would be some of the SMT games, like DDS1 and 2. They have an issue with the newer recompiler and even some higher end hardware configurations need to switch to the legacy recompiler and disable clamping to have an acceptable framerate.

The emotion engine is a very different architecture to desktop processors

Imagine trying to thread a really small needle, that's making a game for ps2 if you're used to developing pc games. Now imagine trying to thread that needle with thick mittens on, that's trying to emulate the ps2 with a pc
>>
Okay, this is a hell of a long shit, but here we go.

The fuck is up with the [Detaches] DX Controler (XBOX360 for Windows) shit? Anybody got a fix for this? I seriously want to keep emulating and shit, but its just a no no with a keyboard, I need the controler to work.
>>
>>332692070
Post effects are shit and look ugly anyway
Only good one is AA and you can render at 4k to do it easy
>>
Someone needs to implement a database of optimal game settings per-game that the emulator automatically loads, taking into account a couple common system specs (like dual core vs quad core, nvidia or amd gpu). It should actually be easy to do and only take one of the experienced pcsx2 devs literally a single day to make, and have users submit the settings. If anyone has an uncommon spec it can just say "wanna try the most common settings? you might need to tweak stuff"

Everyone go ask for this on the forums now.
>>
>>332692975
I have no idea what that jumble of words means but a common controller problem is duplicate drivers activating.

Go into device manager and if you see multiple 'xbox 360 controller' or 'video game controller' entries then stop all but one of them.

I had a problem with windows activating the 360 pad drivers every time I plugged my ds4 in even though the ds4 has its own drivers.
It even overrided the button prompts to display the xbox ones in games that support ds4 controllers, the cheeky cunts

There's already a compatibility chart on the PCSX2 site that has a settings section. It's a matter of people using it.

I don't have any other xbox 360 controlers or anything, Im using a ps3 one with the pcsx2 drivers they said to install, but thanks anyways, maybe I can delete the drivers if I find them or something.
>>
>>332694686
Yes I know, but I'm saying it should do it automatically on game load, built into the emulator. It's incredibly easy to do for anyone that knows the pcsx2 framework. The automatic loading would work for ~90% of people anyway, not that many people have crazy hardware configs.

Because PCSX2 is horribly buggy HLE garbage.

Sure, it's the "best" we've got. But a PS2 is 20 bucks.

>>332685658
Plenty of garbage emulators made in the 90s, you mean. PS1 emulation is near perfect these days if you're not stupid enough to fall for the ePSXe meme, and N64 emulation will always be liquid dogshit because the system is an absolute fucking mess of filters that will never work above 240p.
>>
>>332694171
Except settings and plugins change. A known good config from 5 years ago is worthless.

Most popular games already run fine after a basic set-up. The issue is niche titles that haven't even been tested in 3 years, and have zero documentation.

Now, the real question, could you technically just use a keyboard and play with it or would it be far too odd to use it?

I always use a controler for ps2 emulating, but shit ain't working. Is it possible and does the game not need massive amounts of smooth movement controlling, or is it just shit without one?
