>Spend hours downloading mods
>The sheer excitement when you have 50 + mods going at once, flawlessly.
What's her name /v/?
>>332665426
>every Gamebryo engine from Bethesda I spend more time downloading, researching, and testing mods than I do actually playing and enjoying the game because vanilla is so fucking godawful.
>>332665426
>Fallout Character Overhaul
Still don't understand why people would prefer ayy lmao: the mod
Use Redesigned 2 like a normal human being.
>>332665426
Probably New Vegas, although I did have a lot of fun with Crysis 1's custom levels.
>Mod New Vegas for hours
>Add all the essential mods (150+ mods)
>Need new enemies
>Need new guns
>Need new charactery
>Need new gameplay mechanics
>Need new graphics
>Need new base/HQ
>Finally satisified with the game
>Suddenly it starts crashing or textures start dissapearing after a while (which results into a crash)
>Can't load the last save anymore
>>332669368
>150+ mods
There's why. NV starts getting unstable after around 140 active esps. Either merge shit or ditch shit.
>tfw you have 354 mods on Skyrim without breaking things.
>>332671317
Sounds like an achievement to me, idk why you got an embarassed reaction
>>332671453
I just thought the expression was funny.
Is this better?
>>332671317
I've actually been thinking of replaying Skyrim for the ten thousandth time but with either zero mods or very few mods that are simple fixes / HUD mods.
I must have spent 300 hours just modding Skyrim in the last 3 years and I learned that whenever I did this the only fun I had was compiling the list of mods I wanted and making sure they worked together without errors, but once I started actually playing Skyrim I just sought out the changes the mods made and would notice things in the game that annoyed me and then would continuously download more and more mods to fix / change things and I ended up never getting into the actual game.
>>332671637
Much better
it's honestly fucking Kerbal Space Program, although they haven't pushed the update for the newer version of Unity that should add proper x64 support..
I know it's autistic as shit, but there's not really a more "professional" spess sim on the market that lets you engineer and fly your own ships around that also provides a (shitty) dynamic campaign.
I mean, there's mods for Orbiter I think, but I don't think they're quite as expansive as KSP can be modded to be, and the atmospheric physics can at least be fixed up for KSP.. lack of n-body calculations is annoying and sort of makes everything about "space" flight slightly unrealistic, but whatever.

>I just sought out the changes the mods made and would notice things in the game that annoyed me and then would continuously download more and more mods to fix / change things and I ended up never getting into the actual game.
New vegas
Fuck huge stuff, just give me fixes and a bit of sprucing up of the original content and grafix. Maybe some custom quest content.
>>332665426
S.T.A.L.K.E.R and Half Life 2. Except there I only need one or two mods, because I'm not polishing a turd.

This desu
RSS+RO+some parts packs allow one to create wonders.
>>332669368
Bashed patch and Merge patch are your new girlfriends when installing mods for NV
>>332672439
>mfw waiting for the new update
>want to replay modded New Vegas
>don't feel like spending hours finding/installing mods properly
>once I had the game running stable I would just quit after a few hours anyways
>still have urge to play
>>332675713
Just grab a full overhaul. Like, I dunno, After War Nevada? The actual mod is kinda terrible but it's always worth trying.
STALKER and Mount and Blade, I dont have a very good PC but I dont imagine any modern games really have that many mods comparatively outside of Bethesda/Obsidian games.
>That feel when you manually merge all compatible plug-ins
>Plug-in count is reduced massively
>Game plays infinitly smoother
Half-Life
Fuck your "50 mods at once", that just means that forty-nine of them are doing something wrong
>>332675308
Besides that, STALKER has a lot more really in-depth complete overhauls
>>332675536
they are placebos
>>332676468
True, I did that that in consideration, but the fundamentals are there that makes those overhauls work, or rather, I don't need them to make the game good.I don't hate Fallout: New Vegas or anything, but that game and ArmA gave me PTSD when it comes to modding. Where you spend most of the time modding and the engine remains shit.
>>332676135
Anon help I'm stupid, how do you do that?
Maybe not 50+ mods, but holy fuck, the extra weapon packs, gear packs, milsurp stuff, the modification to how inventory system works, how weapon attachments work, how aiming works, ...
truly this game is great on it's own but fucking amazing with several mods
>>332676470
Nope, they're if you dind't "do it right"
If you actually take your time reading documentations on the mater you'll have the smoothest NV ever
Though, like >>332667143 said, might as well play some other game.
>>332677765
Do I need to play the original game or can I start with 2? Because that looks fucking awesome
>>332668106
>Redesigned 2
But Redesigned 3 is better
>>332675713
I have same problem. Happens every few months.
>>332675961
But I want everything customized and perfect
>>332672012
It becomes ALOT EASIER when you use mod organiser, keeps mods out ifbyour install folder and virtually merges them all together
OpenMW for Morrowind has the feature built in now, but you have to add the directories in settings.cfg.
>>332679328
Can start with 2. The stories are unrelated. Don't bother with the new ones, they're awful.
The best combo is JA2 + 1.13 mod + Instruments of Violence weapon/gear packAlso WWII mod for dem nazi uniforms - so you can overthrow government in style
Wildfire is also great.
>>332679584
I'm too much of a pussy to use Redesigned 3 and do the Gomorrah quest.
>>332680758
What do you mean by this?
>>332668106
FCO looks MOSTLY fine (There's a male merchant that looks eight kinds of fucked up admittedly) so long as you don't use any extreme ENBs or lighting mods.
>>332681331
The butchered hooker part. Redesigned makes that and a bunch of other scenes more shocking, and since the mod is pretty good I know it's gonna be some intense shit.
>>332665426
Neverwinter Nights
followed by Baldur's Gate 2
>>332681494
Oh? So Redesigned 3 is more than just an overhaul of the character's faces?
>>332681610
Yeah, if you want just the faces then get Redesigned 2.
>>332665426
Mount and Blade Warband
>>332681610
Redesigned's main gimmick is just making shit look more authentic instead of just clumps of textures or generic NPC ragdolls. 3 pushes it with a lot more.
>>332668106
I like it cause it stays some what true to the vanilla faces
>>332681610
Yes
>>332681610
You can also try Hall of Face if you're just wanting an HD retexture of vanilla.
minecraftseriously the shit modders throw out can be amazing, nothing like having the entire LOTR world to explore raising yur own army to fight other facs
