If they aren't gonna bother putting any worthwhile single player content in the next game, then I really don't give a fuck. Brawl had a fuck ton to do and the fact that they scaled it back so much in 4 just made me not like it.
I really don't like endlessly playing online. It gets repetitive and I'd want to do something different sometimes once I get burnt out from playing online.

Honestly hope Smash 5 has less characters and more polished gameplay. Smash 4 is a janky mess. It's like they took the brawl engine and threw a bunch of random mechanics into it, and every character is feels like a gimmick.

Look, I like ampharos too, but at best rep it would get is a pokeball summon.
At this point, I doubt if nintendo would even consider sceptile over a pokemon from whatever gen is newest at the time.

I cant imagine that actually happening. Character reveals is now part of the smash experience. Casuals fucking love it, while they don't necessarily invest time into all the side modes. A fully fleshed out story could work, but it has to the focus and be successfully communicated so.
Personally, idc for a story mode, to be quite brutally honest with you. Target tests felt so good in melee, so im for quick gameplay and BtT, adventure, events, etc.
1° Sakurai isn't going to work on Smash anymore
2° Bottom of the barrel has been reached for newcomers unless Nintendo shits out new iconic IPs like Splatoon in between now and Smash 5 reveal.
3° Smash 5 probably won't be a thing until 2019-2020
