Killer Instinct is "that game" that everyone basically has to own if they were misfortunate enough to have wanted an Xbone, only because it's the only objectively decent exclusive available for it.
Sort of like how Splatoon was such an amazing success because Wii U owners were thirsty as fuck for anything decent. Or how every Vita owner owns Gravity Rush.

Play through the entire Dojo mode, should take about 1 hour if you're used to basic fighting game inputs and controls. Will teach give you a great grasp on mechanics as well as frame data and a few other nifty things. Most of the Dojo stuff can be applied to every character except the ones that are radically different like Aria, Aganos, and a few others. I really hope they do another community fund but this time have it for Dojo for all characters, or at least combo trials for every character. They've said they're gonna have more community funds but so far they've only mentioned that the only guaranteed one is for a shadow form of one of the female characters.

yes the tutorial is great for beginners, but it will still be hard because of the fast paced anture of the game. online people will be in your face immediately, making it hard for you to understand what is going on.

KI will also help you getting used to your stick faster because of the fast paced combo system. you are doing button inputs and motions in very quick successions. try a different fighting game after a KI session and you will feel really comfortable with using your stick. it's great for a warm up
