My 87-year-old grandmother is in the hospital on the other side of the continent and is unlikely to survive the night.
Give me some games to get my mind off this.
Hatred.
You most likely did awfully bad to ask /v/.

Was pretty nice. Then she died of a stroke a couple of years back and now I only have my (literally) kitten killing, child abusing, recovering alcoholic, wifebeater of a grandfather left.
He's a piece of shit but somehow keeps going. I like to think it's his hatred that keeps him in this world.
>>332579576
She's a great woman, incredibly nice, baked for us when I was a child, took me out to restaurants on my birthday. She's a Mormon btw.
>>332580296
If your grandparents didnt drown kittens in a burlap sack growing up than you don't know SHIT about videogames.
>tfw never got to know my grandmother cause she died before I was born.
I bet having a grandmother would have been awesome

He actually broke their necks by squishing them between the toilet seat and then flushing them. He also forced my father to watch.
>>332579576
Alright, even though she's really religious and shit
>>332579576
Pretty fucking amazing. My grandma is a saint.
>>332579938
As funny as this is, the game will draw you in and, unlike just about every other suggestion so far, contains no grandmas.

>>332579576
I don't mind if you talk shit about my mom, but insulting my grandma and I'd flip my shit. She was one among the greatest generation and lived through the war and having suffered the depression prior to that, responsible as hell and was the bedrock to the whole family. She didn't whine about her lot in life and just hunker down and get busy to get shit done, whatever the job may be.
She's got more right to complain about the fucking everything than anyone that I've ever known, yet she didn't do any of that. She just worries about how her child and grandchilren are turning out while doing whatever she could to make our lives better and so that we don't live life as hard as she had to.

One day she will go back to her planet. Make her believe in her dreams

My grandmother is about to die too but I honestly don't feel all that sad. She isn't even that bad , I kind of like her but I only get to see her once every five years. In fact I don't have much contact with anyone from my family it's literally only me and my older sister, since my father is absent and my mother got Alzheimer when I was 12.
Having a family surely must be nice

I dont have much contacts with my external family either. One of my Gramma died and it was sad because she was so feisty. The other is kind of a bitch. She start to have dementia and is really not nice to have around.

Condolences OP. Try an old Mario game, nice music and requires a bit of focus.
>>332579057
What you want, OP are games that are immersive, but light hearted enough for you to get a laugh out of.
I can think of no better example than either of the first two Paper Mario games
Get lost in the world, have a kick out of the funny shit in the game, and youll feel better. I know I did when my grandma passed away.
Hang in there
>>332579057
Things will work out for you, anon. I've seen a pleasant future. She will die within the coming few days but you will be able to have one last discourse with her. She will put your heart and mind at ease and her passing shall be smooth as silk.

The grandparents can see things that that folks can't really grasp, because the boomer generation's concerns and perspectives tend to be rather immediate whereas their elders have had the time to digest things.
The notion that old people are obsolete is a load of bullock when we consider that human nature hasn't really changed at all, and having a grip on the worst that human scumbags can throw at you is far more valuable than whatever doohickey we decide to make for 'so-called' convenience or other human factors.
That's what I think you'd be really missing, although you would've seen human treachery pretty on when you're out on your own that early. Elders, if they haven't lost their marbles, can put together a far more coherent chain of events that lets you see how things move as the actors change their disposition to the advantage of themselves over time.

My grandma didn't do anything quite so brutal. She just sliced the neck of a hen and then bled it out like nobody's business. My mom doesn't have the nerve to butcher anything live like my grandma did.
Well, come to think of it, my grandma did kick a stray dog pretty savagely to get the scamp away from my mom.
