SC wasn't pretentious at all. They actually made HUGE efforts to make the game that good(Yah back then Blizzard team rock).
People were laughing at them for their cheap warcraft in space, but they went ahead and made a brand new engine just for the game.
Its in no way pretentious. Fan can be, but definitely not the game.

Games aren't allowed to explore important and thoughtful questions or they're labelled SJW garbage, and even classics like Silent Hill 2 are being retroactively removed from the canon because of it.

Which things in particular? Not healing? That's what I did on my first playthrough because I was stingy and often in the red or on the brink of it. The game interpreted that risky play as a death wish.
