Tri-ace games for the most part have tried to innovate interesting combat systems where tales for the most part has just been iterating on the formula it created in Symphonia with it's biggest tweaks in the latest games. And despite what you say, SO has generally improved gameplay in each of its games and this is only the 5th non-remake one where tales has been churning out schlock all the time.
Looks like the game is no longer "only on playstation".
Expect a similar situation to Dragon Quest Heroes, maybe even a simultaneous pc release.
