The story isn't so much in the main missions as it is in the world around you and the side missions. There's a narrative, but the details are scattered all around Mira and a lot is left up to the player to decide for themselves.

xcx is terrible. straight up terrible. even things like the soundmixing is fucked, with music blasting in every single scene so you can't hear dialogue. It's 720p in 30fps with EXTREME amounts of motion blur to the point where you get nauseous if you're not zoomed all the way out.

Soundmixing equalizes everything which is bad however there are subtitles there whenever it's particularly awful. There aren't at all extreme amounts of motion blur. I played most of the game zoomed in, panning the camera further out when I got in a skell so the model didn't take up half of my screen. I managed to get a 14 hour straight session out of the game with my head only starting to hurt around the 13th hour.
You fail to mention the stellar art direction and environmental design that manage to make the game visually stunning despite its hardware handicap, or the countless locations to discover, collectables to collect, enemies and optional bosses to fight, the massive variety of creatures that change their behavior patterns according to the time of day or the fantastic soundtrack.

I can remember every area theme, every battle theme, the flying theme, the title screen music, even the goofy music that plays during gags involving Tatsu. The soundtrack is quite unlike anything in most other video games, which is likely why it's so polarizing. Sawano very much has his own style.

Ok I can agree with you on the story. It sucks and feels like nothing is answered at the end. Doesn't have the closure like Xenoblade Chronicles. The game feels very short in comparison too.
The only objectively shitty track are the NLA themes. Black Tar is debatable but I like it with its cheesy lyrics and everything.

Both are great games Anon, you have good taste, I'd say they're two of the best games this generation.
I would also recommend you to play Bloodborne first, you can easily lose yourself in Xenoblade X and put 200 or 300 hours into that game without noticing. Also XCX's music is great, some people don't like it, some love it, it only depends on your taste, I personally only dislike the NLA night theme, it fits the theme of the game but I'd rather have another song since you will be hearing it for so long.

I was careful not to spoil you with important battle musics, such as final boss and stuff like that. Don't worry about field music because you can literally go straight to wherever you want anytime, it takes a bit of time at the start, but it's very doable.

Ya you go to the hub and use a waifu to level up, all souls games are like that except das1. The loading time is no longer an issue since it was patched like 10 months ago, can be a but long sometimes like 15 seconds but nowhere near as bad as before

The "The Old Hunters" DLC makes the game 3 times better. It's one of those essential expansions.

I felt the same with Dark Souls, the combat is one of my least liked aspects of the game since you're just backstab fighing.
But Bloodborne doesn't have this so combat in general is waayy more fast-paced and in-your-face.
Some still play it like Dark Souls by waiting to the parry and then they say the game is boring.
Also, because of the weapon mechanics you aren't restricted to just 2 attacks but 8 in most cases which switches up the approaches and utility of each weapon.
I'd say give it a try. Bloodborne is the black sheep o the Souls series, especially since it's just dont by the same people, and not even part of the Souls series.
