>clip hits the watery surface and creates a splash
Jesus, the detail in this game is god-like.
To this day I still can't understand how they could achive that level of visual detail in the city sections.
That's a magazine though
>clip
Was there ever any comment on why all of the great extras and fun shit from 2 was absent from 3?

>Magazines are publications, usually periodical publications, that are printed or electronically published (the online versions are called online magazines.) They are generally published on a regular schedule and contain a variety of content.
What?
I bought the collection and I'm currently forcing myself through the first game. This shit better get good by the sequel /v/ I swear to fucking god

That's not even impressive. It wasn't a magazine but a drinking glass in one of the idle animations in Conker's Bad Fur Day made a splash in the water if Conker threw it into water. I remember it happening on the lets play the devs were doing and even they were surprised that it actually did that.
Let's talk about how good UC4's animation is.
Uncharted 2 legitimately fucking great
I'm not even a sonyshitter but holy fuck it's a quality game
It's too bad the other Uncharted games don't even touch it
>>332495413
Source or bullshit
>>332495242
I love the series but never played the first and I gotta tell you, even I couldn't slog through it.
The other games are great though, 2 was probably the best story and character-wise but 3 was better gameplay-wise.

I'll see if I can find the video it happened in. It was funny watching it because they were just having Conker idle while they talked and then the glass hits the water and makes a splash and they're all like "well I didn't even know that could do that".
All you have to do is make the magazines (like in OP's example) physical objects and it'll react like anything else falling into water. MP1 for instance had physical magazines, though I don't think there was any water to drop them into. Most FPS games for some reason don't have spent magazines actual objects, maybe because they're meant to be put away and not just dropped, I don't know.

>Just bumps against wall and bounces right back
Quality animations there matey, call me when they actually have an animation for hitting a wall like that and getting back up after an explosion, this shit is as basic as it gets.
/v/ always tries so hard to hate these games.
>>332496080
Not nearly as hard as the shills, speaking of which, how much?
>>332495846
>>332496080
/v/ mostly consists of pirating pcucks. Their latest hit is "Watch Paint Dry Simulator". They're a bunch of miserable bastards. Can't say I blame them, with what their platform has going on.
>>332496170
>>332496080
Maybe OP shouldn't lead off with something stupid like thinking objects interacting with water is something new or even impressive.

This happened in fucking Devil May Cry 1 with the bullet casings.
>>332496080
they're sooooooo bad
even last of us, a game constantly jerked off, was a fucking ladder moving simulator
it literally makes no sense
>>332495576
I think 3 is great in some areas. The airplane part was great from an action standpoint, but it really fell flat because it was too short and direct. Plus you have that entire desert walking scene after that dragged on for too long. Every other classic Uncharted "everything is collapsing so fucking run" scene was shitty though. The need to get more creative in 4 because it just feels like they exausted the best things in 2.

>>332495132
everything was detailed as fuck in the game.
especially when youre in Tibet or whatever.
all the detail they put in houses were pretty impressive. especially for something on ps3. you hardly see that level of detail even in todays games.
>>332495187
i vaguely remember reading they ran into some technical limitations or something. i could be wrong though.
>>332496080
If Naughty Dog wasn't a Sony exclusive developer then /v/ would be praising Uncharted and TLoU. /v/ is really just a hivemind that hates anything popular, especially if it's not on PC. The sooner you learn this, the sooner you can start making your own judgements on what is good instead of listening to /v/.

>>332495242
I absolutely loved the first game when it came out back in 2007, but compared to the other 2 it's pretty rough and boring. I struggled getting through it again last fall myself. 2 is genuinely one of the best games of last gen and one of my all time favorites.
the only thing i didn't like about U2 was how they opened the game with a tedious climbing section with disabled drake hobbling through train carriages
>>332495065
the game is pretty average, and is over-hyped like mgsv
very average games
>>332497583
I played every game on release when they came out and their formula is just stale. There's only so many times I can "play" through highly cinematic setpieces before they get boring. It's the exact same issue as CoD has where their game is built around setpieces but setpieces are generally shit gameplay design and are worse than having an in general linear game design. And outside of setpieces it's a standard cover base shooter. It really doesn't do anything worth recognition outside of maybe graphics but even then this is a console series we're talking about so it's already being held down in that regard because of that even if it's impressive what they can pull off with the limited hardware.
>>332495132
ND was given the keys to kingdom by Sony, they had all the tech and all the money they could want.

Why did he jump the first wall but vault the second? Is it the equipped weapon?
>>332497935
I remember using melee combat through all of Uncharted two. It was mainly just for lols to see if it could be done.
And it can be, and its way more fun that way.
>>332498834
Looks like jumping for two handed guns and vaulting for one handed guns.
>>332495065
>that moment in the U4 demo where they shoot at the sandbags and the sandbags get smaller

These games have this insane level of detail and most of the things you think of just work.
>>332498574
It's looking damn good, more fluid and faster than The Last of Us combat, looks like Sony has a shooter.

I know SONY are making a lot of money with the PS4 right now, but maybe this isn't the best place to be spending it.
>>332497795
Yeah, the opening was meh (although it was very visually impressive and ok for an opening). But the museum level was out of place and the forced stealth in a game with only some optional stealth later was weird. You didn't actually get into regular gameplay until the third level, and from there it just gets better and better until the end.
Uncharted 2 and The Last of Us both have amazing pacing in both story and gameplay (combat doesn't drag on, non combat areas never overstay there welcome, enviroments change frequently but also don't feel rushed etc...) with just the beginning of each game being boring and lame.
1&3 had glaring pacing issues, 1 had relentless combat and you stayed in that damn Fort for way too long, 3 jumped around too much and had an even slower-boringer start.
>>332501000
i wouldnt say that about TLOU. the beginning of the game really sets the mood and is fantastically done. the summer drags on with the suburb area and the niggers, while every other season after feels short as fuck. scary abandoned school in the fall? lol one chapter. desolate snowy forest with an enemy tribe lurking and hunting you down cold? lol winters 2 chapters.
>>332495273
>he needs to spend over $1400 to get a PC ready 4k game to run at 30 fps on ultra
>if not he needs a 4k ready graphics card with a supported CPU, costing about $600-$800 for both
>PS4K will only have you spend $400 for ultra 4k
>>332501214
I'd have to agree. I think TLOU had glaring pacing issues. Every street fight feels like the last one. Their indoor levels are great and creepy but fighting humans takes up too much of the game and just felt too much like padding.
Also doesn't help like you say that summer takes up about 6 chapters which makes the last couple seasons feel rushed even though they're better paced.
