Any games you that you warmed up to?
A friend and I played throughRE6last year. It was incredible bad but hilariously fun at the same time. On more then a few occasions we would go mad with laughter, dying to bosses, failing QTE's over and over and dealing with ridiculous glitches. Also raging at the random fucks who we're still invading after all that time since the game released.
I started liking this game a lot more after the hype died down.
I wasn't feeling Deus Ex until I hit Hong Kong.

Almost any game these days has to have a warm up period. Don't know whether it's me or the games any more.
Most recently it was Broforce. I first played it a few weeks ago and thought it was trash appealed to a certain audience, but I gave it another shot last night after getting frustrated at Demon's Souls and found it to be a really good stress relief.

Dead Space 1 and Farcry 2 are probably my biggest "slow-burner" games ever. I just about hated both of them at launch, but after sticking with them they grew to be some of my favorite games of all time.
For Dead Space, I rolled my eyes at the cliche setting and how rigidly it followed the Resident Evil formula of survival horror, right down to the magic teleporting inventory box, but the art direction, world building and weapons won me over.
Farcry 2, I hated the same things as everybody else did; the respawning enemies, the annoying (but non-fatal malaria), the omniscient AI, etc., but after I just accepted those restrictions and started playing the game like a guerrilla simulator instead of kill-everything-Ramboman, I found an experience like no other.

MGS2. Thought Jack was okay, and Rose was an annoying and whiny bitch, but once the story got more into Jack's behavior and past, and thus why their conversations are the way they are, I was hooked.I love doing cartwheel-flips over gaps.
