If a movie doesn't have action scenes, you can't criticize it for lacking them, but if it does include action scenes and they suck, then it detracts from the movie. Games are the same: if a game's aesthetic presentation sucks to the point that it detracts from the experience of playing it, as this does, then it's bad. You have to criticize a game as a whole, not just laser-focus on core gameplay and suck corporate cock when that barely changes.

Yes. Yes it does. It's all part of the game. It might be a small issue, but it's a stupid costume that's worth making fun of. Bad art deserves to be mocked. Gameplay-only snobs aren't helping game criticism, commentary, public perception, or anything else unless maybe if they actually make a game. They're just focusing on a single (admittedly essential, but not by any means monolithic) element of games, the element that shows the root of games as a side attraction at bars and as children's toys and ignores everything that's been done in games since then, and thus contributing to a perception of games as children's toys, toys that can be censored by governments or modified to its detriment by whatever dumbass at some corporate entity and have it be morally OK, because hey, it's just a game and the gameplay isn't hurt, right? Movie criticism got rid of the opinion that the entire medium was just a mindless distraction in the 1970s specifically by casting out their equivalents to gameplay-only snobs and developing media that viewed movies as more than that, and because of that spirit we got great movies like The Godfather, and we got Spielberg's classics that took the "children's entertainment" side of it and elevated it to legitimate art, and more recently we got the better movies of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that make it clear that even big popcorn-munching action movies can still be good. Games will only be helped by taking them a little more seriously.

Looking at most of the USFIV roster, not too many of the male characters are pretty. But I guess that goes without saying.
Ryu has a much softer and attractive face generally, but I never looked at Ken and said "THAT'S A FACE I WANNA MARRY," his hair is usually what draws people in.
