Who else burned out here?
>backlog keeps steadily growing
>playing a game just makes me feel like I'm wasting time I could be spending playing another game, can barely stay committed to one game at a time without becoming anxious
>end up going around in circles and accomplishing absolutely nothing
How do I rekindle my love for vidya, /v/? Should I finally take a break for the first time in years?
>>332487043
Take a break. You're jaded.
>>332487043
dumb frogposter
I was like that, then I discoveredEtrian OdysseyIt rekindled my love for games.
Forget about your backlog and look for a game you might like
>>332487043
I have this same issues, thirty something games, and I only ever play three of them, going around in circles through them
>>332487043
I know the feeling anon.
Just accept the fact that you will never finish all of these games in your lifetime, and then play what you want to play.
>>332487043
Artificially contain your game selection.
Force yourself to pick 5 games to finish before you let yourself play any others. Uninstall/put away other games.
>>332487043
Drugs, they serve as mods.
>having a backlog
What the fuck man.
>>332487043
Take a break, stupid. Play what you want, when you want, and do something else if you don't want to play.
>>332487808
>Force yourself to pick 5 games to finish before you let yourself play any others
Forcing it doesn't sound like a good idea though. That'll probably just make you start to think of video games as a second job rather than a hobby you do for fun, making the problem even worse.
>>332487997
Don't force yourself to play. Force yourself to not play any others. That's why I said 5 games instead of one. If you can't manage a selection between 5 games just stop playing video games until the urge returns.
I haven't seriously enjoyed a video game in almost five years. They all feel like some sort of chore I'm doing so I can pretend I still have a shred of happiness in me.
I don't fucking know what to do. I don't have any other hobbies, all I did as a kid was play video games and now I don't even have that. I just keep coming to this website every day because I don't have anything else

>get a PC to play with stunning graphics and for the huge library
>get a Wii U for Nintendo games on the side
>get a 3DS for on the go gaming
>end up using my 3DS to game, my PC to fap and shitpost, and my Wii U as a paperweight
>>332487043
Same. First 2/3rds of the game are fun, and I usually play for hours. In the last 1/3rd of the game everything feels like a drag and I try to finish ASAP so I can finally reclaim my life. Rinse and repeat

>>332488674
My 3DS broke so I'm playing more Wii U to be honest.
Gonna get a new New 3DS when the price drop happens later this year.
im lonely and i want a gf
videos games dont fill the void anymore
>>332489436
The gf willnot either.

Chances are if you're unhappy now, you won't suddenly become happy once you have someone to sug ur dick
>>332490203
>>332490171
I'm fairly certain it would. I am just thinking about having a GF now and the thought of it makes me really happy. Its not even about the dick sucking.
>>332490494
>I am just thinking about having a GF now and the thought of it makes me really happy
>makes me happy
>now
It won't later when the novelty has worn off.
God bless you frog poster.

>>332490748
If you are doing it right it will take many months, and over time you learn toput up with more shitso it can last years.
GF also naturally limits your vidya which makes it dramatically more fun. Same concept on how a job makes you love it more.

You're still in honeymoon phase.
>>332487043
I hope the first season reach the deku vs shouto fight
>>332491659
>Been in my current relationship for 5 years
If that is still honeymoon phase then I will take it. Also even vidya has honeymoon phases. Sooner or later it wears off and you find a new one, both vidya and GF. Doesn't mean you should not pursue it.
>>332491798
>Doesn't mean you should not pursue it
I never said that. What made you think I did?

Choice is a burden. Sell/delete some games.
Then, go do something with your life. Burn some time with other things, and then your time with videogames becomes more precious. Make obligations elsewhere, so you can't break them.
>>332487043
This is my exact predicament right here. I end up playing musou games or trying to get good at guilty gear, but feel like i should be playing all the rpg and action games i have piling up. When i think about putting one in i think about how much time it will take or all the random battles ill have to go through, but i wanna experience the story and gameplay. It sucks.
>play some GTAIII for a little nostalgia
>ambulance missions
>level 12
>pedestrian spawns in a wall
>uninstalled the game, never playing it again
