I played this game on PC. It was a top-down puzzle game where you had to find a certain number of gold bars. There were teleporters, block-moving puzzles, and an axe you had to find in each level to chop down trees. Some levels were underground, some in forests, and some over water.

I remember dogs that would run at you and, as far as I can recall, explode on contact. Early on in the game, I believe. Seem to think one of the earlier scenes took place in some trenches, too.
Probably a different 3D FPS, but one of the enemies wielded a rocket launcher and had some kind of a gas mask or something with goggles on, and would shout something in another language that my friend and I heard as 'LEMTOSS" when they started to attack you.

There was this game for the N64 (and possibly other systems, I only had a 64 at the time) that was this - I think - third-person shooter where you picked one from a squad of mercenaries? special forces? to go fight terrorism at this factory complex. I remember thinking at the time it was incredibly hard, and styled after arcade games of the time - and you had to pick up different limited-ammo weapons, mostly tactical combat against squads of enemies but it had boss fights, objectives you could complete in varying order.

It was some PS1 game that I played on a demo disc way way back. I think it was a kind of RTS but all/most of the units were vehicles you could design each vehicle with a modular system of swapping parts around and I think you could even personally control any unit you choose. The details are really foggy but I've been looking for the actual game for ages and can't remember the name for the life of me. Maybe the title had something like 20XX in it?

It doesn't feel like that's the one. I remember the office level being smaller and nowhere as brown.
A 2D platformer puzzle game, with realistic graphics(for the time), I remember playing this in the mid-90s on PC. The game starts with main character's plane crashing into jungle, and stopping a ritual sacrifice of a girl to some dinosaurs.
But rather than being happy that you saved her, she's upset at you for some reason. You make your way through jungle and ancient cities with her, with fighting off tribals and dinosaurs, with occasional kidnappings. It has kind of Another World feel at points, and maybe Ico too, since most of the game is a long escort mission.
At one point you get a rifle to take out dinosaurs easily with, only for game to start throwing enemies invulnerable to that soon after.

It was a fighting game on either the PS1 or the N64. I'm leaning PS1.
The fighters were not human. They were dinosaurs or monsters or something. The most stand-out detail in my mind is that the fighters took significant, persistent battle damage, but I was young so even a little blood may have been memorable to me.

PC Indie game, before Kickstarter. It used stolen graphics from some other game, but it was top down twin stick shooter, multiplayer co-op, or versus.
you were marines, you could build turrets and teleporters that spawn more guys. had squad controls, you could get some guys to follow you and tell them to stop moving / to attack in a general direction.
fighting thousands upon thousands of alien bugs that respawned super fast, you had to push against them and destroy their nests where they spawned.
I'm pretty sure it was Russian, and there was a WW2 mod of it you could play on the same servers ( graphical mod )

that fucking game on genesis that had like 4 backdrops that you could drag sonic and other characters and items in and sort of set up like a picture or scene. Was on a six pack cartridge that came with the console.
I think it was on a ps1 or 2 demo disk along with tomb raider and some 3d space game. But this game was top down sprite based and played like a twin stick shooter, the levels i played looked like aztec ruins with lots of different height levels and vertical gameplay.
The main thing i remember about it is that you played as some type or tank/vehicle and bug hybrid. you could pick up some power up that was like a rotating orb or something and transformed you into like a faster bug with more guns and legs. it was really intense and enemies left lots of blood on the ground when you kill them and you could run over the smaller ones and leaves tyre/tread tracks of blood/goo

Long time ago there was a demo for a game I played. I remember it being an rpg because it was the first game I played where you took turns. You played as two guys and a girl from what I remember and one of the guys had a special attack where he throws his sword up into the air, charges up a kamehameha, then blasts the enemy as the sword falls into the blast shooting straight toward the enemy. It was pretty bad ass. I think it was for Xbox or PlayStation 1.
Side scrolling ps1 game with a cartoony colorful look, I think some rabbits or something were trying to take over the world, and I think massive mushrooms or something were sprouting everywhere.
Running though a town on fire filled with zombies.
Specifically remember going through a bus that had zombies in it that made my sister cry.

I could swear it had Contra in the title but that might have been a wrong label on the cartridge or something, because I couldn't find this game going by the Contra word
The game was kinda fast and with a lot of shit going on the screen, sometimes (near the end I think) it went kinda ridiculous and the game took place in the space or some shit, I wouldn't be surprised if it was Japanese. On top of that, I was a kid and played it with a fever, so the whole experience was like a fever dream.

Ok, riddle me this because after 11 years I'm still clueless.
PC strategy game. Grid based in squares, like FFT.
The setting is Alien vs humans, I think humas are invading the aliens but I could be wrong. Aliens were like grey lizards and I think they had horns. You could play as both sides and each one had it's units. Some of the units I can remember are:

-Mortar-like tank with AoE damage and very long reach but not that good accuracy
-A couple oh human troops
-A tank that was like a futuristic car
>Alien units
-A tank that shoot some kind of orange liquid
-A big Tank with Zebra cammo
-An alien unit with jetpack
Each unit had fuel to move and 2 different attacks. When you attacked during your turn the enemy unit usually replied.
The game also had those 3D prerendered images to tell the story. A couple I can remember is someone in the shadows with red glowing eyes playing chess and a group of aliens judging you in court (I think this one appeared when you failed your mission as alien race).
Help me /v/, I just want to play that game again and remember those feelings.

Since I didn't have internet then, I've often used those books to find new games based by their descriptions and walkthroughs. If the game looked interesting on paper, I went to the market with my mom or dad and looked it.
Anyway, I remember reading about a game I thought looked interesting, but I couldn't fucking find it anywhere. I'm looking for a game I didn't even play.
It was a Genesis or a PS1 game, probably a 2D sidescroller type, and the thing I remember the most is that the player had some sort of psychic super powers, and maybe some RPG elements. The name was also called something like Psychonauts (but not actually Psychonauts, that game released later), or maybe with words "nerve" or "brain" in the title.
