Will this game succeed?
>>
In terms of what?

It'll sell as much as Ratchet normally does, probably a bit more due to the movie.

Quality-wise, it'll most likely be good given what we know.
>>
Will it be good? Probably subpar

Will the movie be good? No

Will it sell? Given how hungry ps4 users are for games, it will sell like hotcakes

Will it be worthy of being a Ratchet and Clank game? No
>>
>>332481679
Sales.

I think it'll probably sell better than usual because there hasn't been Ratchet game in a few years, PS4 is more popular than the PS3, there's a shortage of platformers and it's a reboot-of-sorts making it easier for new players to get into the series.
>>
No. Those sort of games are just considered kids games by dudebros and cod/gta teens. The 90s and early 00s was really the only time these games would actually sell well because graphics weren't realistic then.
>>
No, but I'm getting it anyhow
>>
>>332481940

I dunno, have they bothered advertising the movie yet?
>>
im trying to have hope for this

i dont like that it's a remake but hopefully they will have lots of content
>>
>>332482146
NSMB sold 30m+ copies. Lego Batman sold 12m copies. Galaxy sold 12m copies. This sort of shit can still sell.

It also hits nostalgia buttons in people in their late 20s/30s.
>>
>>332482384
Yes. Pretty sure the trailer is attached to Zootopia/BvS too.
>>
>Releasing same day as Dark Souls 3
Why?
>>
>>332482692
Because it needs to be out before the movie hits.
>>
>>332482451
Yes it will sell in that age group no doubt. Most of the Lego games seem to sell well probably because you can couch co-op and it works good for families. I enjoyed the Indiana Jones ones but they all get really repetitive too quick.

Obviously Mario is a key Nintendo franchise. That will sell well because the games are quality.

Mario and Batman are a lot stronger of a brand than Ratchet is, and could ever hope to be.

Furthermore, for being "kids games", they do very little to appeal to most kids these days. People 8 and under these days will be more drawn to something simple, such as Flappy Bird, while someone over that will probably be more interested in more dominating, heavily-advertised franchises like Disney Infinity or the Lego games.

12 onwards, they're probably more interested in playing CoD/Battlefield/ect
>>
>>332481506
I want to buy it but it's on the same day as DS3 so I'm waiting. Seriously though I hope it's good I haven't played a R&C game since the PS2, are there any good PS3 ones?
>>
PC version when?
>>
I hope so. It has more trophies than any other R&C game so it seems to be a good length.
>>
>>332482868
The PS3 games are, for the most part, a lot more heavily story based and pixar-like than the PS2 ones

Avoid Nexus, play Crack in Time if you just want the best. If you want the whole story, try Tools of Destruction and Quest For Booty
>>
>>332482784
I'm convinced half the reason Lego games sell so well is because there's fuck-all else that appeals to kids these days rather than there being anything inherently great or exceptional about them.
>>
>>332482868

Play all the PS3 ones except All 4 One and Full Frontal Assault/QForce
>>
>>332482868
Crack in Time is the only good one.

Quest for Booty is a short dlc basically. TOD is generic.

A4O kind of sucks, FFA is a basically a multiplayer game with a campaign. Nexus kind of sucks.
>>
>>332483065
>>332483252
I have an old 60gig PS3 so if I had to buy any R&C game which should I get? I only played one back in the day at my friends house, loved it. There was some kind of arena we used to play the shit out of where enemies kept coming nonstop and at one point you were launched on to some crazy cylindrical platform and shit got intense but that's all I really remember so I'm not sure which one it was
>>
>>332483090
it's neat having literally all of your favorite characters available to you, since making a playable character in the lego games is the easiest shit in the world
>>
>>332483738
Get the HD Collection, it has the first 3 which are the best.

You can get the future games too for pretty cheap.
>>
>>332483738

That's the 2nd arena planet in Going Commando.

I'd say it's best to go in chronological order since each game slightly improves the mechanics from the previous, but if you had to get only one, go with either Up Your Arsenal or A Crack in Time.
>>
>>332483738
R&C Collection. Try 1, if it doesn't appeal to you, skip to two (1 holds up the worst)

After that, Deadlocked is solid fun (much more fun co-op, but a very different game, essentially a spinoff) and A Crack In Time is my second favorite in the series, right behind 2. Tools of Destruction is ok. The rest are mediocre, but I never played Nexus.

>Full Frontal Assault ended up being garbage on the Vita
>Ratchet and Clank Collection is digital only except for a limited physical release
>and the physical copies have a game breaking glitch

I just wanted a good Ratchet and Clank game on the system before they pretended the Vita never existed
>>
>>332484148
What game breaking glitch?
>>
>30fps reboot of a 60fps PS2 game
I hope it fails
>>
>>332483972
>>332484013
>>332484070
Thanks, HD collection it is. Take me back to a time when people actually wanted games that were about fun
>>
>>332481506
The demo felt really good. Need to see how interesting the weapons and upgrades are
>>
>>332484070
>UYA
>Mediocre

I'm sorry what? I can agree with everything else you said, but UYA was definitely one of the best.
>>
>>332481506
i think so, it looks pretty fun to me
>>
I have faith in it, but im a little worried about it's price tag. Does this mean it wont have much content?
>>
>>332485594
Nah, Sony just doesn't think cartoony titles can sell at $60, especially to kids. They're trying to adapt to the market, unlike Nintendo.
>>
>>332485594

Supposedly there's only 13/14 planets, which means it's slightly shorter than the average RaC, but no where near as short as Nexus or Quest for Booty.
>>
>>332485594
I think the price point is mainly used as a method of penetrating the market. Its been a few years since the last R&C game and now its trying to reboot, on a new console, with a movie.

The lower price might convince dudebros to buy it without having an online aspect
>>
Alright fags.

Favorite mainline R&C game and favorite spinoff, go.
>>
>>332485719
>>332485776
>>332485968
I forgot companies dont mind going below the $60 price tag unlike nintendo. Gravity Rush Remastered at 30 was a stellar price, I'll trust R&C too then
>>
>>332486092

>Up Your Arsenal
>Deadlocked Juanita
>>
>>332481940
This is what I was thinking. People are looking closely at upcoming PS4 games. Even Persona 5 got a lot of newcomers and normies asking about it. Ratchet is pretty well known with the older crowd.
>>
I can't play any of these R&C games anymore cause I feel like it's for kids ... Stupidly easy and its basically the same game over and over. i don't feel excited for weapon upgrades or laugh at the comedy. Sigh.. Up your arsenal and deadlocked/gladiator were the last best games.
>>
It was a good game. So it'll probably do pretty well. I find it odd that they're doing a movie, though.
>>

what other licensed music is in this?
>>
>>332482845
>12 onwards, they're probably more interested in playing CoD/Battlefield/ect
Cod/Battlefield is selling a lot less this gen than previous gen.
>>
>>332486738

I'm 99% sure that's just trailer music.
>>
As long as it has the Bouncer, it's shit.
>>
It's been tracking pretty well on amazon since the comercials started airing. Not sure how popular it is outside of the US but I'm expecting 100-150k for its first month (US only).
>>
>>332486092
Up your arsenal

Nothing else matters
>>
How far apart is the movie and game release
>>

I agree my fellow goodsir. We superior gamers are enjoying The Division, Dark Souls 3, Undertale and The Last of Us because it challenges our mind!

>>
>>332488297
This sort of thing seems to be less front-loaded than big AAA releases. I can see it starting well and being a steady seller.
>>
COULD'VE BEEN ME
>>
>>332490871
Also, it's a first-party Sony title. They will bundle the living shit out of it. Driveclub ended up selling something like 1.5m because of that.
>>
>>332490992
Like Tearaway and Gravity Rush?
>>
>>332491125
They don't care about ports
>>
>>332481506
Probably, but I hope it tanks.
>lmao 30fps doesn't sell, so we shouldn't bother
Fuck neo-insomniac.
>>
>>332491125
Yup to Tearaway, family bundles with (pic related) were everywhere at Xmas.

Gravity Rush has only been out a month.
>>
>>332491265
Tearaway wasnt a port.

>>332491502
If you mean the Vita version, they bundled the ever-loving shit out of that too. Both MS and Sony have been doing very aggressive bundling this gen, because that's obviously better for the bottom line than discounting the base console to make a loss.
>>
>>332491667
PS4 version
>>
>>332491667
I meant the PS4 version, which wasn't a straight port. It had 50% more content.

We rarely get bundles in the states though. The only Vita ones I can think of were Ass Creed, and Borderlands 2.

>mfw Insomniac BTFO muh framerate shitters into oblivion
>>
>>332491667
When the FUCK was this bundle released? I am so mad I don't have it. I loved tearaway on both vita and PS4
>>
>>332491857
They're right though, nobody cared about framerate in 2009. It's increasingly becoming something people care about though.
>>
>>332491796
You know bundles don't have to be part of formal bundles with pack-ins, right? Sony make deals with major retailers to bundle games/accessories with consoles at major discounts. That's why copies of DriveClub, Uncharted Collection and Killzone are fucking everywhere.
>>
>>332492167
And I'm telling you the west doesnt get many bundles. Maybe one big one per quarter.
>>
>>332481506
Lack of kids games on PS4, so it will do well.
