Budokai 2 had one of the best Opening but fun-wise I prefer Tenkaichi 3.

BT1 had the best opening between BT1-BT2 AND BT3, but BT1 was the weakess for story and characters since it was the first.

Budokai Tekaichi 3 was my favorite game
But the way #2 performed the different moves were better imo

I never really enjoyed any of them. I had the Dragon Ball game for DS that played like a traditional Zelda game though that I enjoyed.

Earth Special Forces was pretty good,
and Budokai 1 and 2.
and maybe WC3 map. was pretty good. but it took like 4 hours to play through it, and if anyone left it got less good.

Maybe hold out and see if they make a 2.
Xeno is good, but the story is kind of short, and unless you like grinding the missions, you'll probably lose interest in the extras. If you have people to play with, go for it though. I could see the social angle giving it a lot more life if I did.

Honestly, after B2 all the other games started feeling too same-y. Though I do realize that B3 is considered to be one of the best, I simply stopped at 2.
Fuck, did anyone ever play this? One of the few DBZ games with a cool what-if storyline. Gameplay was good too

There is definitely a 2 coming at some point. Bamco put out a survey a few months after XV release asking for feedback on what people thought could be changed/improved in a sequel.
I expect an announcement around the time DB Super ends the current tournament arc. That'd give them another stretch of "canon" story to add, along with new characters to push the game rather than just adding more old ones.

To be fair, there's still a host of characters to choose from that we haven't seen. I don't think many movie villains showed their face, unless I really missed out by skipping the later non-story missions.

But the thing about those characters is they've been featured in previous games already. Super is giving them completely fresh material; characters that have never been in a game before, that also aren't game-exclusive. It's pretty much the biggest character-related selling point they could go for short of going full Heroes with what-ifs.
