Oculus is the product of an untalented jew. That it would miss the mark in nearly all aspects shouldn't be surprising. It's entertaining to watch it unfold on the internet, though, where the jews can't control the narrative as to which product should be adopted.
>>
>>332451283
Yeah that guy lied, it's more than 80 because you have two eyes. Close one of your real life eyes, now your fov is tiny as fuck, congrats

Single Eye FOV doesn't mean shit when comparing headsets because overlap

First gen VR has very low FOV overall, vive is just as shit, though a few % better (lesser overall image quality as tradeoff though)

I don't see how it'll be more shit than the others after one year when that's around the time when AceCombat7 and GranTurismo are released. Either way short term is what matters for now, we can talk all day about the potential of Oculus 3 years from now but on launch the library is very underwhelming (best game being a multiplat) and owners are left dry with no motion controllers for who knows how long. At least Vive owners can have fun with weapon tech demos and drawing programs on day 1.

Because the PS4 is too limiting to truly show VR's potential. This early on people are just figuring things out so everything is low poly but that's only one aspect VR can offer.

Also it won't be 3 years. In 3 years we'll see a new HMD altogether.

It's not like 90% of Oculus and Vive's games are graphical showcases. Devs are for the most part testing the waters with simple games and graphics. Even more "bombastic" games like EVE Valkyrie are also PSVR multiplats. Either way art direction always trumps graphics. Thumper looks better than Radial G, and Dreams is more visually and technically impressive than Tilt brush, for example.

>>332455712
I know you are just shitposting or a falseflagger to make PCfriends look bad. But yes, every PSVR game has a consistent 60fps minimum requirement (reprojected to 120Hz). Even 30 fps games like Driveclub can be adapted to run at native 60fps (perceived as 120) for VR, pic related.
You can removed most post processing effects from games and that alone will increase the framerate by quite a bit.
I'm not saying PSVR games will be on par with PC, that's ridiculous, but they won't look like absolute dogshit either, like you're implying.
>>

> Devs are for the most part testing the waters with simple games and graphics

Which is why I said PSVR will be the best early on. Once devs can test beyond those waters is when the other headsets will shine and PSVR will lag behind on PS4 hardware.

>Either way art direction always trumps graphics.

Of course but you can only play so many low poly games with simple graphics before it gets old.

>ven more "bombastic" games like EVE Valkyrie are also PSVR multiplats.

EVE Valkyrie looks noticeably worse on PSVR and this has been said by many.

>80FOV
Oh god i just realized that VR will never be good. They will never fix the FOV problem, consoles have ruined it forever.
>>
>>332458586
But psvr's fov is 100 degrees, I even read someone on the oculus reddit say having tried them all psvr's was seemed like the biggest to him, probably because its the easiest to adjust so he found his sweet spot.
>>
>>332458586
Dunno what you're talking about, but you should check StarVR for increased FOV.
>>
This is a huge step in VR.

Please do what I did and take off the technophile hat for one day and just enjoy the content in VR. For me, I purposefully put my tech opinions aside and just let the content in, and it was absolutely glorious. I simply can't wait for what the next 5 years have to offer for VR...that is...

<rant>

..if you fucking crybabies don't ruin the entire VR business before it has a chance to take off. This is the only real problem. Your incessant complaining is like the guy in the movie theater bitching at full volume about some minor detail that quite literally nobody else in the theater (currently enjoying the movie) gives a flying fuck about. Stop giving snarky quote snippets to gaming press that are too lazy to come up with their own opinions as those opinion pieces shape the buying decisions for the larger market. Articles written in those voices can torpedo a the entire VR industry before it has a chance to even get started. VR HAS to go wide or it will never take off.

Everybody that's boo-hoo'ing about FOV, light rays, and apples/oranges feature comparison needs to chill. This first gen hardware (yes, first gen) and as with all first gen hardware it will contain compromises that will need to be revised to further the state of the art. Yes, the Vive has other features, so does the gear, so does the PSVR, and guess what - some of us like all 4 and will support all of them wherever the content is.

It blows my mind the level of "expert" commentary on these topics. Please, just stop for a second - take a breath - and try to enjoy the content in this new medium and judge the experience on those merits. Yes, there will be things that suck - just like there were things that sucked about 1st gen LCD monitors, or 1st gen iPhones/Androids, or 1st gen consoles. The first real handheld game console was 2 bit color greyscale and 5x the size of a modern smartphone with no backlight. There were no pitchforks back then, why so many now?

isn't project CARS already VR compatible? either way virtually any game can be modded into VR, you just have to wait for it, I'm sure there's already a lively modding community around porting games for it. I've seen a Zelda wind waker VR port a year or so ago already

>>332457864
there are a couple of dev talks online about it, just search "MIGS15 Playstation VR" on YouTube, should be the first video and he goes over it at 35 minutes

>>332458040
I didn't disagree with any of those points. but with the exception of truly high end games like StarCitizen, everything else can run on a PS4 with enough graphical downgrades. hell, even ARK somehow works with PSVR.

>EVE Valkyrie looks noticeably worse on PSVR
did you read the last line on my post?
how is that different from any other non-VR multiplat ever? MGS5 or Witcher3 look worse on PS4, but they look good enough for console owners. EVE also looks worse but has all the same functionality and gameplay, which is what truly matters at the end of the day. both ps4 and PSVR are entry level devices in cost and ease of use, of course they won't look as great.
Point is that it looks good enough and will help the VR industry as a whole
>>
>>332454913
At this point I'm still unsure if people are trolling with this same shitty argument. You know how people became wealthy? They didn't waste their money.

They don't replace their overpriced cars every year. They don't buy a new tv/computer/etc every year either.

You know what, after further thought it must be that this argument is meant to piss those of us who work our asses off for our money. Congratulations, asshole. It worked. You must be a child who gets everything handed to him by his parents if you're not a troll.

I'm not even poor. I work 70 hours a week and I earn 106k/yr with OT. I save and invest every penny for an early retirement. I really need to leave /v/ as there are literal children who have never been out in the real world everywhere.

>this new medium
My problem isn't any single detail, it's the whole concept.
There's absolutely nothing new that this current "VR" makes possible. It only makes familiar things like turning your viewpoint more cumbersome in exchange for shallow novelity.

Every new technology that really takes root is characterized by being more convenient or affordable than something that came before, and this definately isn't either.
It's just a gimmick

>>332460348
The differentiation in graphics is substantially worse in VR. It's a completely different playing field. A now even one at that.

Part of the reason why console owners are ok with lower end graphics on consoles is that you're playing them on a TV further away. It's much harder to pixel peep things like LOD with this setup. Not the case with VR, it's there in your face and you're in it and everything stands out like a sore thumb. Just watch the GiantBomb stream to get what I mean. Even on PC, there was comments on the shimmering with EVE or in Project Cars with the less LOD.

>Point is that it looks good enough and will help the VR industry as a whole

Never said it wouldn't, problem is as things evolve the PS4 will stay stagnant. Maybe their 4k version will help but I doubt by much. I think that rumor is mostly a PS4 with a HDMI 2.0 revision rather than having higher graphic capabilities so they can push their 4k content store rather than you having to buy their $700 4k player that hasn't gone over too well.

I think your are emphasising the graphics too much. I have yet to see anyone complaining about their PSVR experience (aside from Golem which is a shitty game) even the guys at Tested enjoyed it. all opinions I read about and watch are on par with other HMDs.
>>
>>332462474
Most of the comparisons come from other games or are comparing the HMDs themselves which are all very similar.

There are very few multi-plats with PSVR atm. EVE is the only one I know so far that actually has decent graphics so you have to find the people who tried both there. Pretty sure I heard it from Tested themselves in one of their podcasts.
