Everybody played OoT when they were 12, because it's scientifically proven that everything was better when you were that particular age.

But what age did you play Majora's Mask?
>>

I played OoT at 8 and Majora's at 10
>>
>>332433905
I didn't play either of these games until I was 22.

Dang that must have felt good.

I had to wait until Christmas for my copy.

THREE. UNBEARABLE. MONTHS.

>Everybody played OoT when they were 12

How is that possible when half this board wasn't even alive when OoT came out? Maybe you mean the 3DS version...

Also, I played MM the year it came out when I was 8. It was then and remains my favorite Zelda game.
>>
Ocarina at 14
Majora at 16

Yes, when they first released. No I don't know why I'm still on /v/
>>
>>332433905
I'm 27 so whenever it was first released. I'm too lazy to do the math.

I still liked it more than OoT.
>>
>>332433905

OoT is better
>>
>>332433905
13 or 14 I think.

Fucking love Majora. OOT is more of a quintessential Zelda but Majora has far more style and personality that makes me respect it a bit more.
>>
>>332434809
OoT is vanilla as fuck. It was an exceptional debut in 3D for the series, nothing more. MM is just so much better in every way.
>>
I played OoT for the first time when I was like 20, actually.

Why do people on /v/ love to assume things?

I didn't want Majoras Mask because I got stuck in OoT and didn't want to get stuck again.
I was a stupid kid.

28 here and played oot like six months before mm was released and mm like a week after its release

Because the average age on 4chan is like 17. Heck even moot himself was underage here for the first 3 years of the site's existence. Most people your age have either long since offed themselves or retired to reddit.

I played OoT and Majora when I was 20. Didn't have a 64 growing up, borrowed the system and games from a friend.
Pretty damn good games. Spirit Temple was pretty rad and the music during the final hours gave me chills.

>>332434102
Same here
Back then I did prefer MM, but now not so much. That game doesn't lend itself to replays very well.

Translation: People who like games I don't like are twelve.

I was seven when I first played Ocarina on that same Christmas it came out, and I was twelve when I played Majora and Wind Waker. And just to shut you up, I was eighteen when I played Spirit Tracks and loved every minute of it. Your age doesn't mean a damn thing. I play games as an adult and I love them, more than Ocarina of Time.

I started it 2 months ago and finished it this weekend. Best Zelda

First game i ever bought with my own money. I could buy games before, but I got to choose one for free as a gift on my birthday, so I never bothered.

I was a retard and didn't read the box, so I got the game but didn't have expansion pak. Cousin saved me by buying it, and we shared the console for awhile until his sister burned his house down and my N64 along with it.

Not him but I would've preferred MM to have all the side stuff it had as well as more required content such as a couple more dungeons or so. It's 4-5(if you count the tree) compared to 9-10(if you count Ganon's tower)

I don't feel like I can join any forum again since I've gotten so used to calling everyone a faggot for no reason. That doesn't even consider the egotistical mods with 1000+ rep that "win" an argument by just saying "Who the fuck are you?"
>>
>>332436385

Pretty much.

>>332436554

I feel the same. But at the same time, I can tell most people here are indeed somewhere between 17-20. I'm gonna be 28 in a few days.

I was joking about moving on to Reddit for the same reasons you stated, the egotistical behavior that comes with usernames, but people here are also fucking retarded.

I played it last year when it came out on 3DS, still has the same shit control feel as my friend's OoT back in the day.

He wasn't calling anyone 12, he was pointing out that we all have very high opinions of the games we played at that age because of our perception of them at the time.

Fucking autist hang yourself
>>
>>332435164
OOT has more/better dungeons
MM has better overworld content

it evens out desu
>>
>>332437392

I played MGS1 for the first time when I was 12.. It's still my favorite game of all time (along with MGS3).

Kinda funny how that works.
>>
>>332435804
It doesn't get better on Reddit. And if you're too used to 4chan you will just hate it. I give ya a week.
>>
I have not played Majoras, I played OoT a couple years ago on the 3ds and I loved it. I could see why was praised back then. I plan to buy a N3DS and try Majoras, I am sure it must be awesome, still don't regret of growing with a Saturn.
>>
>>332437392
Many other games that I hold high opinions on were released much later on, Ocarina being one of them when I was seven, and Pokemon Platinum when I was seventeen. His science is flawed.

Who else was too stupid to get MM's time gimmick when they were 10?
>>
>>332433905
OoT at 6
MM at 8 but was too hard at the time so didn't finish until I was 12.

OoT > MM imo
>>
>>332439104
I got it but I was annoyed by it. I had such a big hate boner for MM, it took me a long time to actually grow to like it.
>>
>>332439104

lmao this
>>
>>332439104
I was able to get it about two hours in. I don't see how people struggled with it. Just slow down time and there you go. I actually had to speed up time to get to events faster. the 3DS version made things unnecessarily easy when it was easy enough to manage. Kids like you are the reason why we got the 3DS version the way it is.

But, to each his own.

>>
>>332433905
if it counts i watched my dad play ocarina at 3 and majoras mask at 5. i would have messed around in them at the same age but wasn't really capable of playing through them properly.
>>
Played it when it first came out, never finished it. Just played and finished it a few days ago (after playing through OoT again). Overall, I think OoT was the better game.

While the dungeons in Majora's Mask were a little less straightforward than OoT's dungeons, the bosses were way too easy (except Gyorg, who gets to be invincible half the time, and Igos du Ikana, who is a cheater).

There's really no good reason for losing all your consumables every time you play the Song of Time. Same with the scarecrow song. If the bank can keep your rupees, the scarecrow can remember your song. The time mechanic hardly matters for dungeons, and is only a nuisance when you're trying to complete the quest for the Couple's Mask because you have to dick around for a few minutes while you wait for shit to happen (I understand the 3DS version fixed this). Speaking of, pretty much every mask just feels like a key to unlock one or two heart pieces.

At least the minigames were fun.
>>
>>332433905
Never played
>>
>>332433905
I played zelda way before I was 12.
I played oot and mm at the same time, because I got the zelda collectors edition with my GC when I was 7 or 8.
I didn't beat majoras mask untill I played the 3ds version.
>>
OoT at 8, MM at 10.

I liked MM more at the time, still do actually.
>>
They are both not better, they're on the same level.
>>
>>332433905
Played OoT when I had just turned nine, played MM when I was just about to turn ten.

Preferred OoT as a kid, prefer MM as an adult.

They are both two of the best games I've ever played.
>>
>>332433905
I played OoT when I was 8, I was too stupid to figure out what to do once I got to death mountain. also I never beat the game, I just rented OoT every now and then and played on other peoples game saves.
>>
>>332433905
I was about 3 or 4. Never got past clock tower til I was 12 though when the game came out for Wii VC
>>
>>332433905
Majora at 6 or 7 didn't actually play OOT until I was 10.
>>
>>332433905
>OoT
>11

>MM
>12

Always preferred MM.
>>
I'm 30 and I've never played it. The idea of a Zelda game that uses side quests in an attempt to make up for a lackluster main quest doesn't appeal to me. I have no interest in being Termina's errand boy.
>>
>>332433905
Right after OOT, i was one of the few idiots who actually bought an Expansion Pack, was disappointed by how short it is and the quality of the dungeons, liked the side-quests
Overall liked it but still think OOT is a better game

6 or 7 for majora's mask
14 or 15 for OoT.
am 22 now.
>>
>>332434102
Same here. Shit was so cash.
I was a kid back then, so I automatically assumed the sequel was better than the first game. MM is a fucking masterpiece, but I still prefer OoT.
>>
>>332433905
I actually played and completed Ocarina of Time when I was 8. And I played Majora's Mask when I was 10. However my dad didn't like Majora's Mask because he didn't like primarily playing as young Link, so he got rid of it before I could even reach the Woodfall Temple. My first time really getting into it and beating it was with the Collector's Edition when I was 15, and I have just as much nostalgia for it as I do Ocarina of Time.
>>
>>332434474
Yeah dude, my dad was a major Legend of Zelda fan and bought it a couple of days after launch. He liked all kinds of video games, and that was cool. Too bad his love for games and comics caused him and my mom to divorce.

Now he's a hardened long haul truck driver with a 3DS.
>>
>>332439838
Are you actually complaining they made it more convenient? I'm not gonna sit and leave my system on for up to eleven in-game hours just to trigger a specific event.

I like the stuff they changed just to change it, since the surprises are pleasant. Everything else they've changed is just to make it less dumb.

I got the 3DS version sorta recently, but so far it's been a 10/10. Did they make the egg hunt not the worst part of the game?
>>
I was 19, I believe.

It's not my first nor most-played Zelda, but I appreciate it's theme and how they used OoT assets to make a different game in a short time frame.

Probably my favorite 3D Zelda.
>>
>>332433905
I was probably 15 or 16. Only played it on the Gamecube tho
>>
I thought OoT was boring as fuck as a kid tbqh
